October 21, 20223 yr Hi all, I am curious to know what efficiency everyone is getting out of their SS inverters. Sunsynk advertise a max 97% efficiency however, I dont believe my machine achieves close to this. As I understand it, the efficiency is calculated as Pac/Pdc. I have the 5kw model which gets quite hot in my garage and I wonder if the temperature has such a material effect on the efficiency which I calculate to be on average around 88%. I could really find any info online on what average efficiencies are achieved so thought I would start a thread and get your real world experiences.
October 26, 20223 yr I have seen guys reporting very high temperatures , even up to 103DegC. Not good for longevity

The battery to AC will have lower efficiency, because of the low voltage and physics (and is why many of the inverter manufacturers are moving to HV batteries). The efficiency will also vary greatly with power level. To determine the actual efficiency, you would require some specialized equipment, relying on what the inverter reports is not a great strategy for accurate answers, but it's possible that the inverter reports actual values. October 31, 20223 yr Thanks for this. Was just wondering about the same thing. My solar efficiency is also around that value. My high voltage 51.2V battery is not great at low loads below 1kw (around 85%) but this increases when the load is higher up to 97%.
