GoodWe inverter settings being reset/not saving

Featured Replies

Good day,

I have been working with a couple of different GoodWe inverters and it seems to be a common thing that the inverters would forget their settings.

I was wondering if it is a common thing?

As an example just this last week we did the commissioning on two 60 kW grid tied inverters i.e. set country code, reconnect times, active power limitations etc and went through testing. Turned the inverters on, saw production and deemed the installation complete.

Just the next day both inverters stopped working and "luckily" entered standby mode as they forgot the country code.

I'm not really expecting help just looking for comment from the industry as I would personally try and avoid selling the brand due to this.

I usually go back and make sure all the settings are correct before accepting that the installation/change of settings is "complete"..

PW master takes a while to sync properly with the inverter.

EG: My inverter has working mode = economic mode. But after I've selected the  inverter in  PV master, for a while it shows working mode = general. If I start working with PV master now, it may save the displayed value & set working mode = general.

So I always select the inverter and wait until all the data has refreshed - I see the working mode I know I should have, I see numbers for SOC, load etc. Then I'm sure as I can be that I'm working with the actual data from the inverter.

I dont know if it is true for all goodwe inverters, but after setting the settings on my 5048 ES, you have to "apply" them. This gives a warning that it will reboot the inverter. You accept, the inverter reboot with the new applied settings and then you know it will be there even after another random reboot.

I found that many times I got "faikled" when try to put i some setting. Sometimes I got "success" but the value is not accepted anyway 😞

Hi, it's the same with mine. When you put the selfdefine mode data into the battery, you go into advanced settings and it always changes some value. You have to change it several times until it takes the configuration. What I have noticed is that if it says "Success" and you continue forward and when asked to restart you say no, the configuration does, it is not necessary to restart the inverter with the changes.
