February 10, 20233 yr Author This unit works well with a 12V lithium battery (a friend has been using his inverter with a Hubble 120AH LiFePo4 for more than a year) as you can change settings for charge voltage and for the low voltage cut-off.

February 22, 20233 yr Author And change inverter cut-out voltage to 12V or whatever is > than your battery's BMS turn-off voltage. If not the BMS turns off then the inverter won't turn on and the battery won't charge (obviously). If this happens you need to apply a voltage across the battery from e.g. a normal car battery charger (isolated for safety - or disconnect the inverter AC in). This will wake up the BMS and the inverter can then turn on. This is a problem with some "trolley" inverters which are meant for lead acid batteries and on which you cannot change the settings. So when voltage drops too low the BMS cuts out and the inverter won't turn on as it needs the battery voltage in order to turn on. This happens with the Ellies inverter - seen this first hand. Not sure about the Mecers.
February 27, 20251 yr In the manual for this inverter it states the following: This unit’s output does not have built-in Earth Leakage protection, this must be installed separately by an electrician Is this required? and did anyone here actually do this?
