  1. Check in Device Manager of the computer to ensure drivers are correctly installed. Also check step 8 and 9 of the manual if you're using Windows 7 or above.
  2. Hi @Malcolm Sorry to hear that you didn't come right, unfortunately I'm not close to the system so I can't give proper assistance. What seems to be the problem with the drivers?
  3. Hi @Malcolm Yes, I did. The installation files are under "downloads" in the link below: https://www.communica.co.za/products/sr-ml2420-mppt-solar-controller You'll also need a cable in the link below: https://www.communica.co.za/products/sr-data-link-cable
  4. My electric fence has been installed and running flawlessly for at least 4 years. Recently the alarm went off and I checked the fence perimeter, all good. A strange thing is that the alarm clears when I remove mains and run the energizer on battery only. Today I took the energizer to Nemtek for testing and they found no fault with it. This is giving sleepless nights as it is a security risk. What could be causing this problem?
  5. @JohanBar what is the outcome of this issue seeing you now have listed the inverter for sale?
  6. I'm a proud owner of the 12x cells, 4x will will be used in 12V and 8x in 24V configs. Below is a comparison of the seller's capacity test vs my test (based on random selection of cells). I tested to down to 2.5V@10A per cell and the results speak for themselves. I'm happy to have dealt with an honest seller. Cell Igg (Ah) my (Ah) B2 108 112.22 B7 112 116.64 B14 111 113.27 B16 111 116.58
  7. OK cool, I have a similar one
  8. @igg what did you use to measure the cells capacity?
  9. @Killerwatt what do you mean by "age unknown"? Surely if it's your house then you at least have an estimation of when installation was done?
  10. I'm running Victron Multiplus II 48V 3000VA and I never have an overload problem running multiple kitchen appliances. The datasheet shows 'maximum feed through current of 32A' and 'peak power of 5500W' but doesn't show how long it can endure these ratings.
  11. That's looking good, did you use drill press?
  12. Overload alarm starts at 110% of load which is 3300W for 24V 3000W...this is rather low
  13. Thanks @Scorp007 The manual shows the inverter can handle 150% of load for 5s before going into overload, that is 4500W for 24V 3000w inverter, is this the absolute maximum? Does it mean if I want to power multiple loads at once (kettles, microwaves, washing machine) I have to manually bypass the inverter thorough the changeover switch (by changing to Eskom)?
  14. How does Axpert bypass work? Does it mean the full mains can be powered without interrupting the inverter? Or is that load limited by the maximum power rating of the inverter? What can cause the inverter to go to overload when there is no loadshedding?
  15. BTW that's a massive storage capacity 26.5kWh, congratulations!
  16. Sorry I misunderstood your post, I thought you build one 15 cell battery and have one unused cell and that's why you were looking for additional cells to make 12V battery. In that case, then you are correct.
  17. Yes but you are not limited to 48V, now you have one unused cell whereas you could have used all of them and have a 51.2V battery which is common among commercial batteries. I've seen one guy from another forum pushing the limits and built 18 cells battery (57.6V), as long as the inverter can handle it there's nothing wrong (most inverters can handle 48v to 60V). We call a 12V lifepo4 battery 12V but the nominal voltage not 12V, it's 12.8V (4x3.2V), 24V (8 sells in series) battery is actually 25.6V, 48V nominal is 51.2V (16 cells). At 48V your usable battery capacity is 8832Wh, at 51.2V your usable capacity is 9420.8Wh, that's 6.25% more capacity and another reason to use 16 cells.
  18. Yes I tried that and working but I just left it at bulk of 27.6V.
  19. It's LFP. You're right, I've since found out from other forums that from 27.5V the battery is full and there's no need to push it beyond 28V. I turned on Equalization just to test that the battery can reach 28.4V but it's off now and set to bulk charge of 27.6V. Below it's a fully charged battery and happily floating at 27V.
  20. It's a JBD BMS. I did not have time to top balance cells in parallel but charged them to like 3.5/cell in series (with BMS connected) and topped them individually to 3.65V/cell. They are fairly balanced with about 7-10mV delta.
  21. It's only limited to 13A on utility power and up to 70A using other sources but the enduser will be using utility only to charge.
  22. I have a DIY lifepo4 battery and Mecer 24V 3kva inverter. Inverter settings are as follows: 01- UTI 02- 20A 03- UPS 11- 15A 26- 28.4V (bulk) 27- 27V (float) The battery does not reach the set bulk voltage of 28.4V when charging, instead it stops around 27.5V. What could be stopping the battery from reaching the target?
  23. Post revival. Has anyone recently bought anything from them?
