Yesterday I finally got my repaired Hubble am 2 back.

My installer connected it and did all the necessary.

Much to our horror both mppt indications on the 8 kw sunsynk showed zero.We switched the repaired am 2 off and and pv started flowing.

After doing some troubleshooting with switching ac off etc there was no change.

My installer called the sunsynk helpline in JHB and it was patched through to the UK.

A very helpful man there logged onto my inverter, he did an online upgrade on the refresh rate of the dongle and assured us that it needed a bit of time to settle down.

He also checked the inverter settings which was nice to see.

We gave it a few more minutes and it then worked perfectly.

Clearly with the new bms etc it needed a bit of time to settle down.

Outstanding after sales service from Sunsynk.

Great to hear and hope this is the end of battery problems over months.

Indeed. We played around with switching the good battery on and off and vice versa and it definately was a settling down issue with the repaired battery.

I hope that this is the end of it but was very impressed with sunsynk support.

Also very good of the installer to make the decision to call & get support. Another very good reason to buy the Sunsynk branded version & not the Deye because I'm sure they could also remotely assist with a firmware update via the Solar man logger. However, the correspondence would take a few days.

A good example of synergy of good product support.

He picked up my inverter just from the plant name i had given it but we gave him the serial number as well.As the 2nd battery was back in the system so to speak, he checked all the settings and was happy.I am hoping the battery doesnt play up but time will tell.

@Nicholas StrachanOut of interest, what did was cited as the issue with that particular Battery? Was it a faulty BMS?

The bms had caught alight. My fok ,it was glowing orange with a nasty smell.

There have been lots of bms issues with these am2 batteries.I had to pay for it to be replaced etc even though the battery was only 6 months old.

I dont think it will be as good as new but time will tell.

Sunsynk support was great and our local lot can learn from that.

I will let the 2 batteries settle down etc hope it doesnt bomb again.

The warranty is not worth the paper it's written on it seems. 😡

Thats crazy ,especially considering the nickel/cobalt  based lithium chemistry cells they use .Luckily it did not burn your house down.
