January 30, 20233 yr Looking into a system that consists of 2 x sunsynk 8kW inverters with maxed out solar panels and 2 x 5 kW batteries. This is a follow up on my frail care question as this could go a long way to alleviate the backlog of washing cased by load shedding. How would this all be linked up; batteries on one inverter or one on each etc. Maybe there is someone who has a similar setup that could share the layout.
January 30, 20233 yr Hi @JohanG, As paralleled systems are seen as one, you should also only have one battery source - connected to both inverters. PS, I think your guestimate of 2 x 5 kW units is way undersized - You may need to double or even triple that, in order to survive LS.

The demand is during working hours so unless it is cloudy it will not be necessary to use the batteries
January 30, 20233 yr 6 minutes ago, JohanG said: The demand is during working hours so unless it is cloudy it will not be necessary to use the batteries ok, just keep in mind, if a 16kW draw is attempted with only or near only batteries as source, they're likely to trip and out go the lights... unless these batteries are rated 1.5C which would allow a 15kW draw and probably survive a 16kW spike... also... to answer the original question, one inverter set as master, the other as slave, there should be a comms cable between them, refer to the manual... then the batteries should be paralleled up and connected to both inverters power wise and presumably with a CANbus interface to the master inverter, the batteries presumably also need to be set as primary and secondary with a communication cable between them... both AC inputs paralleled up and connected to the source/grid side and both AC outputs of the two inverters paralleled up and connected to the load GFI/earth leakage switch, also remember the conatctor/relay driven by the master inverter to bind neutral and ground on the output side once the grid raises the white flag and surrenders....
