The inverter needs to do a quite delicate dance to keep the bus voltage within bounds while also charging the battery while loads and solar conditions are varying randomly. So I'm not surprised that a fault with the DC->AC or the DC-DC, including both their gate drivers, could cause fault code 08 (bus voltage too high).
