July 9, 20232 yr Hi im busy getting my inverter setup rigged up. Ive got gas stove, oven and geysers...12v lights even ...but i have a question. My inverter is now installed (3KVA meccer 48v) but dont have solar yet but when the power is on even though on the machine it states "bypass" my load still shows. So does this mean i can only use 3kva even when power is on? Because it warns me when load gets a bit high. But im not technically running from the inverter at the moment as there is power ....or am i wrong? I just dont want to pop the inverter or something.. "NOTE my overload bypass is enabled aswell"
July 9, 20232 yr Hi Peetvstaden You can only run the Max 3KVA as this is the specification for that unit. The bypass relay is only safe for that load. It is designed so that should the power fail at any time it will handle the load at that present time. It would not be wise to run the inverter continually at full load. The way to get past this limitation is to install an appropriate bypass switch to isolate the inverter output when there is power, allowing you to manually switch over to the inverter output once you have lowered the load to accommodate the inverter. This would be done the same way you would use a switch for a generator. Edited July 9, 20232 yr by Peter Topp
July 10, 20232 yr Yes, it seems that the printed circuit tracks are the main limitation, and the inverter will stop with an overload fault code at the same power level whether the battery or utility is powering (most of) the load.
