Direct Grid plug for prepaid meter

Featured Replies

Most prepaid meters requires a direct connection to the grid to function. But if I understand SANS correctly, a earth leakage is required for any plug point?

Should I install a Earth Leakage just for one plug?

You could potentially claim it is essential computer equipment and power it from an unprotected red plug.

Thank you for this. The meter is class II, so that makes a difference as well?

You can run the prepaid from a dedicated socket red one without going through the earth leakage with labelling " Dedicated outlet not earth leakage protected" and as you said the prepaid meter is double insulated■ classII it will pass a coc.
