November 7, 20232 yr Does anyone possibly have any info on when Solar Assistant's support of Luxpower inverters will improve? At the moment it is very limited. I am still learning so I am playing around with settings often and I have to switch to the Luxpower Device monitor software everytime I want to chance anything. It works well for monitoring though. I am on the latest firmware - 2023-08-16.

November 7, 20232 yr Author Thanks, I did not know how to get a hold of them but I just checked again and found the "contact us" link at the bottom of their website.

November 7, 20232 yr Author Yes, they replied to me and suggested that I join the beta program, and I did. Lots of new things in the pipeline. I have not tested yet, will do soon and report back.
December 2, 20232 yr Author After updating to the latest beta version of the software, I am now seeing a lot of the settings that were previously missing - thanks devs. Not all settings yet, but at least enough to keep me busy and it feels like we are getting somewhere.
December 24, 20232 yr Author Finally, after 8 months I have my panels up. And of course, just as I was finishing the connections it started raining. And yes, it took me 8 months to build the rack - I work slowly😁

December 24, 20232 yr Author Thank you - and I have seen the magic already. Even during the thunderstorm - only a little magic, but something happened. Hope for some sunshine tomorrow. Merry Christmas.
January 23, 20242 yr Author Just noticed this feature in Solar Assistant - never knew about it. It can show when the next loadshedding is scheduled

May 13, 20242 yr does anyone have feedback regarding the automation on the Luxpower units using Solar Assistant as yet? im looking at upgrading my inverter to a Luxpower unit. but is essential to my system that the automation still works
May 13, 20242 yr Author Yes, I am using the automation settings. Not much, I am running off Eskom power from 17:00 to 21:00 every day and I have set up an automation to charge the battery off Eskom if it should go below 30% SOC(has not happened yet). Seems to work. I must add that I am running the latest beta version of SA. Edited May 13, 20242 yr by eugenedp Spelling
May 13, 20242 yr @Flouw I was on SA with my previous inverter. I then moved to a LuxPower LXP5K with a PowerGem battery (specifically for the tightly coupled inverter and battery management in a single interface, including firmware updates etc.). Initially I was dissapointed with the low level of functionality / integration of SA with the Lux inverter, but as I got to know the LuxPower management interface, I realised it had everything I needed and some things that SA still doesn't offer (Email and mobile app event notifications). If you want to stick with SA as your base platform, I would recommend looking at a Deye inverter. A work colleague has a Deye with SA and flip it has fantastic integration and advanced automation. Real "if this" then "that" type of logic. I've included some screen shots below that show that you can set multiple time slots for different functions to give you a level of automation (Depends on what you are looking for). The time and effort that LuxPower put into developing their mangement platform is one of their differentiators in my opinion.
May 20, 20242 yr Author Just an update - I tested the automations to charge the battery when it drops to a certain level yesterday. No luck. I could not get the inverter to charge the battery at all. I do not know if I am just stupid or maybe the automations do not work yet. Grid first settings work, but not the charge settings.
