December 19, 20232 yr Hello, I'm new to the forums as well as to solar systems. Please help me help my installer! So I bought a solar system for my home, consisting of 3 Axpert Max 6.5KW Inverters, 3 UP5000 Pylontech batteries, and 6 Solar Panels. The system is supposed to work as a backup (UPS) for the entire house if grid fails. So everything is working, and yesterday I wanted to fo the first test to simulate what would happen if grid power went out. So I switched off the main breaker of the home, solar system kicks in instantly, and everything works fine. 5 Minutes later, whole house turns off, main Inverter is showing F08 on screen. It cleared itself after about 10 minutes, and I attempted the same test again, this time no errors. So what do you think this could be? And would it be battery related since I shut off the main breaker? Apart from that the error has never shown up, but that's the only time It's been working as a UPS. I've let the installer know and they're looking into it, however I figured I would try to gather some info here as well. Here's my settings as well as a picture of the main inverter display. If there's any suggestions please let me know! These are what I see on WatchPower, as I haven't messed around with the Inverter menu myself. Main CPU Firmware Version: 00069.06 Secondary CPU Firmware Version: 00012.21 Wi-Fi Module Firmware: 3.6.1.6 Output Voltage is set to 127 (My grid voltage is between 125-129) Output Source Priority: Utility - Solar - Bat Battery Type: Pylon Battery Cut-Off Voltage: 46.0V Bulk Charging Voltage: 53.2V Float Charging Voltage: 53.2V Max Charging Current: 10 Max Battery Discharge Current: Blank Max AC Charging Current: 20 Charging Source Priority: Solar + Utility Battery Equalization: Disabled Real Time Activate Battery Equalization: Cancel Back to Grid Voltage: 48 Back to Discharge Voltage: 50 If there's any additional information you'd like to see please let me know! December 19, 20232 yr Hi @MarioSHwelcome to the forum. Does the battery symbol flash on the inverters display, the inverter that has the Comms for the Pylontech? I see that you have an AC input & output of 127V. Are you based in the US using split phase electricity? 127V is not something that should be displayed there unless you in a 110V voltage geo region...

And I'm located in South America, the nominal voltage here is 120V, but for some reason my area is above that.

December 21, 20232 yr You are using the latest 69.xx firmware that I know of (the 69.6x are all older than 69.06). Hopefully it was a once-off glitch.

December 22, 20232 yr BMS = 'Battery Management System'... Basically, a small computer that lives inside each of the batteries which is in charge of deciding whether the battery is full, empty or whatever. It means that the battery is able to tell the inverter what it wants or can offer in the way of power, set limits etc, rather than the inverter trying to work it out for itself. This 'discussion' all goes on via those thin network cables between the batteries and inverter. Edited December 22, 20232 yr by HedgeSlammer punctuation!
December 22, 20232 yr You will find that values like maximum charge current will change from time to time based on what the BMS wants. So there is no point in your changing that setting; the BMS will override it. If you change the battery type to USE, then suddenly all those battery related settings are fixed at what you set them to, and the BMS will no longer override them.
