Sunsynk app not working

Featured Replies

Hi. Same issue here. App last reported data at 06h42 today Sat 02 Mar 2024. Both inverters are showing as being online but no data on the app. Also the Master inverter to which the panels are connected is showing no PV kWp on the inverter, but the battery is charging from the sun, and I'm not using grid.  Sunsynk App monitoring system is FUBAR.

The same happened about a month on 6 Feb 2024 where no solar PV or grid stat reported. Problem resolved itself overnight. Suspect in chief .... Sunsynk. I was never able to elucidate the real cause or determine what fixed the issue. Ironically the inverter still did it's job correctly despite the reported data being absent.

Two other independent Sunsynk systems that I monitor went offline at 08h32 and 11h37.

 Very strange.

Additional information

Hi same situation ?Cape Town?, my Sunsynk Connect went offline at 06:45 CAT today (02–Mar). Red & Green lights illuminated on the dongle, but not connecting to the App. Noting. Solar Assistant is working perfectly.

Thanks. Was going to try restart but I won't now. Another friends also went offline this morning. I'm hoping it's just a server issue and they never pushed updates to everyone.

It's concerning that the actual inverter data is showing 0.... Sometimes the app goes off due to their server issues. But this is affecting the inverter itself. Strange

Oh thank goodness. I was beginning to think it was due to local changes I've made (pi-hole installation). I should have known it was the Sunsynk data handling again... 🤬

I've observed that the time is randomly changing on my inverters during this debacle and since schedules are time driven I've turned off the time sync option and manually corrected the current time and my schedules are once again working. Does anybody know what server(s) the inverters use to sync time?

Still no data being reported. The Gateways are online but  the Inverter still shown as being offline. Random varying disparate reporting times as recently as 06h50 this morning.

Anybody elses problem persisting?

Mine is still the same. No data

As a new user, I made the mistake of diagnosing network related issues, changing access points, checking firewalls etc.....never suspecting that it may be the server/provider at fault. Thank goodness......although about 4 hours have been wasted resetting and applying various changes to the config.

Status remains....will wait until tomorrow. In the meantime, reset everything on the network to what it was.

Issue on Sunsynk side, there’s a few posts about it on their forum.

As a workaround, set the date and time manually and uncheck the “sync” box so it retains the manually set date and time. Or else it will impact your work mode time settings.

The best thing to do is just get Solar Assistant. No more issues. Sunsynk APP is useless and mostly offline.

Even my own monitoring were affected by the randomly changing time on the inverters. It appears that when the time is adjusted in the wrong direction the daily totals are zero'ed on the inverters. I managed to get past this by unticking the "Time sync" option and manually correcting the date & time. Are you telling me that Solar Assistant still had the correct daily totals? Please note: I'm not attacking the product and merely wondering.

When using Solar Assistant no need for the Sunsynk App. Solar assistant will do its own totals from it connection. Just unplug the Sunsynk dongle then it cant Sync the time from sunsynk.

My solar assistant with daily totals has remained correct. Not affected by sunsynk app data
