Goodwe blue inverter support

Featured Replies

Hi everyone

I have a solar backup system with the blue Goodwe inverter at home in Woodmead, Johannesburg. I'm not happy with the service received from the installer.

I've had someone else check our system and recommend replacing our old lead batteries with Pylon lithium ion batteries. Apparently inverter settings need to be changed for the new batteries. But they are battling to work with the blue and apparently older Goodwe and say their supplier can't support the blue ones.

Could someone please recommend someone who could help.

Thanks

Gregg

Thanks Fuenkli

Is there no-one here that can help? Surely there must be a number of people with a similar model Goodwe inverter to mine. It certainly wasn't a discount price or under the table purchase so I find it hard to believe my installer is the only one who has used this.

Does it have an WiFi card on it? Most probably your inverter has available a firmware upgrade as well. The best thing is to contact Goodwe, they are very helpful.

You have to give them the serial number of your inverter and they would be able to help.

but not the one that has the older firmware. I think the BYD batts are a better option on the Goodwe.

Hi everyone and thanks for the help.

The inverter has wifi and I have connected to it previously although I battle now.

The new guy I had looking at my setup said there is a firmware upgrade available but was concerned that if he did it and it didn't work my inverter would become useless. The problem again that he hasn't worked with the blue Goodwe inverters and can't get support from his supplier as they say they didn't import those.

Virge when you say contact Goodwe the Goodwe supplier contacted is the same one who said they couldn't support this inverter. Do you mean contacting Goodwe China or another supplier here? Checking Goodwe's website seems there isn't an official importer.

Thanks for checking that SilverNodashi. Glad it'll work but still need someone to install and change inverter settings.

Mike for sure firmware should be upgraded first. Until then can't really pick any battery but as a matter of interest why do you prefer BYD?

Thanks again everyone. Most frustrating having essentially a useless system that for me cost a lot of money.

And for after-sales issues, you can contact Tina: [email protected]

let me know what ver firmware you as i have the last one that was available for the blue which must be done with full battery and utility switched off

Hi Fuenkli. I've e-mailed that address and see it's being passed around and me cc'd as they try to find the appropriate person to deal with my problem. Thanks.

Thanks Mike except I can't tell you that because I don't know how to check. That's why I want a service provider to sort this for me. I'm investigating a number of avenues and hopefully someone can come and sort.

did you try (with your cellphone) to connect to the inverter with either the "EzManage" or "PV Master" app? Both app will allow you to identify the installed firmware version.

Hi Gregg, I hope you got someone by now. If you have not, we fall under Goodwe Germany now and i recently met the Director of our region, Thomas Heiring, very nice guy. The importer partners for Goodwe is Rubicon and Sinetech, both have offices in JHB. Please contact them for a recommended installer near you.

Is SegenSolar no longer involved?

At a product training @ Rubicon, Goodwe said their SA import partners is Sinetech and Rubicon, but yes Segen also offers them. As far as i understand Segen imports them via their international connections (with very good prices i should add :) )

Hi, did you manage to get someone to sort out as I have had the same experience and the installer is absolutely useless.
