May 4, 20242 yr Author It's a Volvo EX30...Not sure if it can power the house but I'm doubtful. From the electronics I saw in the Victron I'd believe it can make coffee first before it could power the house...
May 4, 20242 yr Author I'm all for EVs but they need to address how will one travel in terms of the 400km range & then charging. The charging is slow. So how will someone get by normally. Or they need to deploy DC chargers in more places because that is the only rapid charger available. The tech is there but the infrastructure is lagging very far behind. But hey to charge at work & home that makes perfect sense. Maybe the plan will be to incentivise business to roll these out at the work place. But sorry I actually just don't see this working yet until someone fits the infrastructure in mass. That company will have a monopoly & have a good advantage in the market. The cars will follow.
May 4, 20242 yr 1) Why a 22kW charger for a car that can only take 11kW? Or was it for 3 phase balance? 2) There are plenty of DC fast chargers along major routes. Takes about 30 minutes to charge, which is not great, but not the end of the world. 3) How many times a year do you actually do 400km+ trips? If you can't wait 30 minutes for a charge, just rent a car for long trips. Will still work out cheaper than an oil burner as a daily driver.

May 4, 20242 yr Makes sense, but dang - a 3 phase Type B RCD probably cost more than the charging station...

May 5, 20242 yr Although we might think the roll out of stations is slow the over 400 most slower is better than we might give credit. Further manufacturers like MB and Jaquar with their up to 200kW DC chargers are doing great work. The above seems to be better compared to the number of EVs on our roads presently based on my impression on the roads.
