Shvncrvn Posted May 14, 2024 Posted May 14, 2024 Hi all, I have recently had an electrician install an extra 5.5kwh Sunsynk inverter and it is working as expected in parallel. The one annoying thing is that the inverter is seen as a new plant, and does not have a combined statistics page on the app or the web app. Is this normal? Quote
Nexuss Posted May 14, 2024 Posted May 14, 2024 Perhaps remove the wifi dongle from the slave inverter so that only the master has a wifi dongle? Quote
JayMardern Posted May 14, 2024 Posted May 14, 2024 This is normal... I 'ball-park' my solar production/stats/etc by just doubling the figures of the master (since my arrays all face the same direction and hence both inverters perform similarly). A combined view would be nice upgrade, though. 7 minutes ago, Shvncrvn said: Hi all, I have recently had an electrician install an extra 5.5kwh Sunsynk inverter and it is working as expected in parallel. Carl Anthony Posted May 15, 2024 Posted May 15, 2024 Dont think its been setup correctly, I have 2 x 5kVA's in parallel they dont show as separate plants. 1 x Plant with 2 x Inverters, and it combines the production from both as a total. JayMardern 1 Quote

Open the old plant & add device or logger there. That way you have 2 dongles/ devices attached to 1 plant. It should display as 1 big plant of 10kW rather than 2 separate plants that are independent. Not crazy to sort out but get it done because that's how it should have been done . @Carl Anthony last post is how it should display & function. Both metrics populating into a single total plant setup. Edited May 15, 2024 by Steve87 Carl Anthony, JayMardern and zsde 2 1 Quote
JayMardern Posted May 15, 2024 Posted May 15, 2024 (edited) Did not know this; means I'm not set up correctly either!! Is this something that applies to Deye inverters also? Will give it a shot... 1 hour ago, Carl Anthony said: Dont think its been setup correctly, I have 2 x 5kVA's in parallel they dont show as separate plants. 1 x Plant with 2 x Inverters, and it combines the production from both as a total. 1 hour ago, Steve87 said: This is not normal, delete the new plant & dongle. JayMardern Posted May 15, 2024 Posted May 15, 2024 (edited) Can confirm, @Steve87 and @Carl Anthony are spot-on, adding a second gateway (to the same plant) combines the values. This is a really nice improvement over dealing with separate values all the time. Thanks guys! In a rare example of decent Sunsynk documentation, full instructions can be found here but the process (as mentioned by @Steve87) is simply to add additional Gateways onto a single Plant which will automatically combine their data. I've highlighted the moment the addition started reflecting on my side, we can see everything (including load and PV production) got doubled as expected: @Shvncrvn, try it out and let us know if you run into any problems.
