Don't know which province you situated but when i was still in Gauteng there is quite a few electrical outlets that sold them Bright Lighting is one of them they have the dc fuses as well.

Yes but before you do that put a dc fuse(1~2A) in series with the pos lead cut the lead and put the fuse inbetween the cut wires.

Mmmm so I didnt do this, I just connected as is to each terminal...bad thing if its not connected via a fuse like this?

As the saying goes what can go wrong could go wrong. The chances are good the Pi will have an internal fuse don't really know as i haven't opened one up yet, but with batteries that can supply high currents in the event of short curcuits it is just good practice to install an external fuse.
