March 28, 20197 yr I need help to set up my Mecer Inverter with a bank of two Pylontech US2000B batteries. Settings are: P2: 50A; P5: USE; P12: 48V; P13: 51V; P26: 53.2V; P27: 53.2V; P29: 47.5V Although the batteries are full, the Inverter "thinks" its empty. I understand that this older version of Mecer doesn't communicate correctly with US2000 B Pylontech batteries and that I need to use a special cable to get this right? Any ideas how to make such a cable? I tried to use the COM cable supplied as part of the cable kit without any success. Any assistance will be highly appreciated.

Just use the battery itself. You'll probably want to set parameter 29 down a fair bit lower, like 45 or 46 V. Even though MPP Solar say to set it to 49.5 V here. Not because that's when you want the inverter to stop discharging the battery; the Pylontech will have done that long before. But because at setting 29 plus 2.0 V the Mecer will think that the battery is so low you'll want to hear the low battery alarm, and it will think it's not possible to switch to battery mode since it's voltage is dangerously low. And it won't turn off that low battery alarm until setting 29 plus 4.0 V. It has setting 05 = PyL and there is an RS-485 interface to talk to the battery. Edited May 14, 20197 yr by Coulomb Sigh. Mixed up VM III and King again. Added image.
March 28, 20197 yr @ZOL you can have a look HERE Some of the explanations might help you understand the differences better.
March 28, 20197 yr Author Thanks for the feedback guys! Will change setting 29 to 45 and see what gives. Contacted Centurion Solar as Riaanh indicated with the link but they don't have any cables.

April 1, 20197 yr Arrgh, I screwed up in the post above (now corrected). I said the only model that I know of that talks directly to the Pylontech battery was the King. In fact, it's the VM III (though the King and others may have support by now). I got the PIP-5048MK (= King) and PIP-5048GK (VM III) mixed up (I find the MPP Solar manuals easier to find).
