I've been looking to replace my geese's pump (pool pump) with a more energy efficient pump.

I've been looking at these pumps: https://www.takealot.com/hailea-mega-flow-pond-pump-30-000l-h/PLID54481305 , my only issue is that it only has a 1 year warantee.

Does anyone maybe have some suggestions?

At first i was thinking of getting a standalone solar powered unit, but seeing though the pond is about 20m from the house i can just lay cabling and power it from my existing underutilised solar system.

The pump should preferably not exceed 400-500watts, and it should have a reasonable warantee

Head of 4m equals a pressure of 0.4  bar which is very low.

Will definitely not be a high volume pump.

Always look at pump graphs to determine a pump capability.

This had me worried as well, it still needs to go through the filter and high volume almost always means low pressure. The sand filter creates a bit of back pressure and these pumps are normally used in an open ended system.

Pentair have a range of variable speed pumps for which they claim use significantly less power.

PS: I've been thinking of one of these for a while. But now my thinking is that it's not worth the outlay because I spent money on solar power anyway. So one of these smart, efficient pumps costs me about as many rands and cents to run as my current pump.

There is no sand filter, as it will be going through bio filters (water plants and bio media), also, i only need 2m head
