Please Guide me.

I have many 18650 cells which I want to test with IMAX Charger/Discharger. While Charging and specifically to test the mAh/power while discharging I have to connect a single cell. It is time consuming and I have to be attentive.

To overcome this problem, I bought a black colour- simple battery holder for 4nos. 18650 cells, XT60 connector pair, 4S cable, 14AWG wire. I plan to creat a Lipo-type charging connection and balance cable connection. It will help me not only to simultaniously charge 4 cells but would be useful for Discharge, Balancing purpose. My questions are :

1) Am I correct in this thinking or is it unusable?

2) DO I NEED A BMS OF 4S TO COMPLETE THE CIRCUIT OR DIRECT CONNECTIONS TO IMAX CHARGER WITHOUT BMS IS OK?

Please answer these quiestions. Any experienced suggestion is greatly appreciated.

@San Chan, I would recommend you go ahead and buy something like the liitokala units to test your batteries. they will give you the Capacity, and internal resistance of your batteries.

I bought one on Bid or buy from capetonian  supplier but was very unhappy. Tester broke after one week and supplier asked me to sen it back at my cost which I found unfair so, turned to banggood and am very happy with their overall service and recommending  them warmley.. competitive price, good aftersale service, vert fast delivery...

@Mad Mike are you in to the lithium diy game?

Just a wee bit! I have a sweet19kWh powerwall up and running a small 3kWh power wall on the way for the other inverter. Don't tell the others (I am shooting for 50kWh), they think I am crazy by building a fireball in waiting!

I tried a local supplier early on and was massively disappointed as the items were fakes and died within days. I bought mine from china and have no complaints, the 4 units have tested just over 4500 cells between them. They are now showing their age, buttons not responding,  afew bays are temperamental!! I have ordered new ones from China again and if the post office staff don't liberate them from me prematurely I should have them some time in January 2020.
