Battery Equalisation

I have taken the advice and installed a Victron -712 battery monitor and it has been running for about two weeks, with a break in between due adjustment to the panel cabling . Very convenient to be able to check the parameters on one's smart phone via Bluetooth however I am at the stage when I would very much like some advice on further settings to my inverter in response to my historic display from my battery monitor.

Below is a display of what has happened in the past 10 days or so.

Discharge:   Deepest discharge of -103Ah was a one-off, which represents just over 50% which I thought was too much so I have set the 'Point back to utility' (setting12) to 49, which resulted in the last discharge of -60Ah. is that too little discharge?

Charge: I don't understand the relationship between Total charge cycles and Synchronizations, and what it is supposed to be achieved?

Regarding my inverter settings : why are there so many options for setting 12 and 13  - 'point back voltage to utility', and 'point back voltage to  battery mode' when I would have thought  most users would be interested in achieving optimum use from the batteries , so there would be a best setting for these to options??

Thank you

Syncronisations is when the monitor resets to 100% SOC after the charging current goes  below the specified level for the specified time. I'll check how often mine does that, it seems a bit high perhaps. What are your settings on the BMV?

Min battery voltage 20.5? What happened there?

In terms of the depth of discharge, 60ah is 70% which should give a good number of cycles.

Actually a lot of those history numbers make no sense. Here's mine. This is about a years data. Charge cycles 0? Average discharge 0? Min battery volts 20.5?

@Bushtracker - The HA02 battery balancers are available from @Chris Hobson on this forum. PM him for pricing - got all of mine through him.

Many thanks for that Kleva.

I understand synchronisations and the BMV is synchronising automatically when the SOC is 100% and the charge current is less than 4% (8A) for at least 3 min. this is the default setting.

Min battery voltage 20.5 - the electrician shut the system down by mistake , and it caused a few problems, that is when the deepest  discharge went to -103 Ah also blew a fuse on the mid point lead. Things have settled down now, I have replaced the fuse and it is working properly. I disregard that discharge , and the 20A min battery voltage. When I am a more familiar with the BMV, I guess I need to reset it?

1.3 MWh! That's a lot!

Yes, that was a one off, and it has settled to about 30 to 35% discharge now

What I do not really understand is  the definition of a 'Charge cycle' and  should one be aiming at achieving a charge cycle every day, or avoiding a charge cycle? I notice that your history DeepBass9, has not recorded any cycles, in 82 synchronisations?

I think there is a bug or 2 in Victron's software, but please don't report it. On the last update it took me about 10 tries to get the software running again!
