June 9, 20206 yr I have an Axpert 5K 5000VA/5000W (not clone) and want to know why I should upgrade the firmware from 74.3 that it came with to a later version
June 9, 20206 yr I am no expert but I'd say if it's not giving you any problems there is no need to upgrade the firmware.

I don't know what changes were made since 74.30, but I don't believe that they were very significant. You may care to update to patched firmware version 74.40e, which has: * Fixes for the premature float bugs * Dynamic charge control, so you can vary the charge current limit every 2 seconds * Dynamic load control, so you can turn off one or more paralleled inverters to save idle power consumption * Aussieview, which allows you to see more flexible pairs of information, and new information like maximum temperature, on the LC Display * KettelKomp, which is load and charge compensation for critical changeover events * There is an LFP "flavour" which has more LFP-friendly voltage thresholds * Various minor improvements, such as better 7 segment representation for some letters, prompts on settings screens, and so on. June 11, 20206 yr Author Hi Coulomb as always you are a great source of information - tks Question - if I want to use this inverter with LifePO4 batteries, is there an update that would allow it to see these, or, what would you suggest I use to charge the batteries with (I will have 2 x 48v 120ah 6.1kwh LiFePO4 Wall Mount Solar UPS Battery (2nd Life) batteries each with a BMS. I am considering using your string configuration (as per another mail) or if I can't cost-effectively charge the batteries add another small inverter to take care of the battery charging. Stand alone MPPT controllers seems ridiculously expensive (give that I will have 1 string of 4 x Canadian solar 410 PLUS 1 string of 8 x Canadian Solar 410) panels
June 11, 20206 yr You won't be able to have your inverter talk directly to the BMS. You might be able to get ICC or other monitoring software to do it. Or you could just ignore the BMS's maximum charge current messages and charge the battery directly from the inverter. In this latter case I would recommend updating to patched firmware version 74.40e, LFP flavour. That will fix the premature float bug, and the voltage thresholds will be more suitable for an LFP battery.
July 31, 20205 yr Author Firmware successfully installed (dsp_BF1_74.40e pf1.zip). I like the new display format, far more informative.
February 18, 20233 yr Hi wimsza, Please can you share the firmware file. I don't see it @ downloads tab. Thanks JaVH
