December 14, 20205 yr Good morning all. My Raspberry Pi 4 is noisy, I am sure it is the cooling fan. Is it a simple procedure to replace it, and does anyone know the size/part number and where to get them from? And if I switch my Pi off will the solar system revert to the previous settings with the Axpert Inverters? If I could know I had the correct fan motor I am sure it will be a quick job.
December 14, 20205 yr Morning Paul, Pi Fans do differ ever so slightly from case to case, so depending on the Pi case in question, it might differ slightly, but most are 25X25 X 7mm 5VDC R
December 14, 20205 yr Hi Paul, depends on the fan and case that you have? I have one of these https://www.diyelectronics.co.za/store/accessories/2670-raspberry-pi-4-aluminium-case-with-dual-cooling-fans.html, and notice that the one fan does become noisy at times, removing and reconnecting the GPIO solves the issue. Is the noisy fan consistent?

I installed a resistor in the wire to the fan. The noise level is a lot better and PI temp at 46 C.
