Cobus Watt Posted February 19, 2021 Posted February 19, 2021 Afternoon I need some clarification on the connection sequence on an 8kW Sunsunk inverter without a battery for a grid tied system In the Youtube Sunsunk video it states that the grid connection is both input and output and nothing should be connected to the load Is that correct? Thanks Quote
Kalahari Meerkat Posted February 19, 2021 Posted February 19, 2021 That way of connecting it would be fine, if you're trying to grid feed as well, I guess, if you do not want to feed back to the grid you should connect your load to the output and not enable grid feed. Quote
Kalahari Meerkat Posted February 19, 2021 Posted February 19, 2021 Ok, lets re-look at this... the problem with my suggestion would be that you'd have grid coming in to earth leakage and then inverter, output of inverter feeding the rest of the house which would have to be decoupled from the input/grid connection, but not fed by way of earth leakage. This is problematic, so yes, what you want is to leave the loads where they are and use the current transformer to prevent the feed to the grid, but allow feed to your load devices on the input side of the inverter. Thanks Hi Cobus. Yes that’s correct. Make sure that the CT is placed in the correct position. See attached pic Quote
Cobus Watt Posted February 20, 2021 Author Posted February 20, 2021 Some more questions. Connecting live and neutral. Wiring direction between green connectors and motherboard is different. Green connectors indicate N is in the centre while printing on the motherboard says left Quote
