Does Mecer Hybrid SOL-I-AX-5M circa 2015 require a MPPT controller for Pylontech Batteries?

Featured Replies

Hi again

After getting one of my Invertor/Chargers repaired (I have 2 in parallel) the installer recommended I get a MPPT charge controller as the built in controllers won't be able to do a proper job on my 4 X Pylontech US2000b batteries.

Does this sound like a fair statement or am I been sold something that already works given I've had the batteries for close to 4 years now and all seems fine.

Am keen to ensure the batteries are charged correctly I just don't have the funds at the moment to fork out for unnecessary extras.

Regards

I had the same inverter as you and it charged my 4 x Lithium batteries with no problems. As long as the settings for "Bulk and Float" are close together as per the Lithium charging recommendation.

Great, thanks.
