Many thanks for this @Coulomb I was around in the days of Dick Smith Electronic shops and loved to spend time in there as a kid, oh well...
I will look into the above but a big thank you for replying and also for helping me out a while back with my invertors.

Replaced the C79 and C78 (1000uF 16V electrolytic) on my Sol-I-AX-5M today fixed my issues, thank you all.

I have 5x US2000C installed in Sept-2021 and one of them was faulty with swollen cells in July-2023.
Service logs demonstrated that the unit was not misused and I got a new replacement unit without any discussion.

Great news, happy for you, people like you getting value from threads like this, makes it worthwhile to carry on with this journey.

    Yes and yes.
Perhaps your wife can have those capacitors replaced before you get back 🙂

Also just want to say thanks to all the contributors of this thread.
My E&E engineering son returned back to his flat in Stellenbosch this week only to find the 4 year old Axpert King 1 inverter won't start up after the holiday.  As this specific inverter requires a connected battery before it will startup, we originally thought it was just the battery which ran flat (he left it on ...).    He first borrowed a 48V charger and charged the battery to 51V which then started the inverter , but with the same flashing LCD and LED lights problem as shown in this thread.
Showed him this thread with the possible solution and he then proceeded to take apart the whole inverter, bought 2 new CAPs, soldered them in as replacements  and put the whole inverter back together the next day.  No screws left behind, he was hopeful ..., and VOILÀ (!) ,  inverter started back up functioning perfectly as before.  Hopefully fit for a good few more years of service.
R10 for the CAPs vs R12 000 for a new inverter, now that's a good deal.  Reminded me of my days when I was his age when I fixed my PC's by just replacing the busted caps on the motherboard .  It's a good feeling !

    Hi there
My advice would be to contact [email protected] and send him the data sheets that SegenSolar would have sent you to prove whether your battery was overcharging or not.
Alternatively you can post the data sheets here and ask the forum to comment on them, that's what I did as I literally had no idea what they meant.
There are some very clever, very generous people on here and they saved me a fortune...

A big thank you to @P1000 and @BritishRacingGreen for taking the time to actually look at the data logs of my batteries.
I contacted Pylontech China directly paraphrasing what the both of you mentioned and this was their response:
"A few days ago, in the communication with Segensolar, there were two cases where this situation occurred. After re-checking the log, I think that the cells have been unbalanced before the overcharge data occurs. So I changed the warranty judgment and replaced the new batteries under warranty for the customer.   We will continue to pay attention to similar cases and provide customers with warranty services."   I was then offered 2 X US2000C batteries as replacements but decided to take a credit note instead.   I think many people are correct in that to get any company in South Africa to honour a warranty is next to impossible BUT not impossible!   They rely on customers not really understanding the technology and baffling them with multipage data logs in the hope that you just give up.   Thank god for this forum and the people on it who willingly help out strangers, you literally saved me a small fortune!   It is however a long, long process (nearly 6 months!) but worth exploring every avenue before throwing in the towel.   I hope this might help some other members in their warranty claims as there does seem to be gremlins in those US2000 series batteries...   Thanks again!

    Hi @Raj35
I have been working in the film and television industry for longer than I care to admit and I can tell you quality Lithium batteries are worth every penny. Right now I'm sitting with 7 camera batteries, 4 X genuine Sony batteries and 3 X generic. All 3 generic are swollen in just 3 years.
Perhaps we as consumers need to take a much closer look at the quality of the lithium that goes into the battery as well as the ins and outs of the warranty provided.

    Hi All,
I had exactly the same issue as above. I bought 3 Pylontech US2000's and had them connected to a Voltronic (Axpert). During this time which was almost 5 years ago the battery went over voltage once or twice according to battery logs (Axpert is not great at controlling battery voltage as there is no feedback from the battery to the inverter on battery voltage (no CAN comms)).I moved over to a Goodwe inverter which controls the voltage to the batteries much better. I added another US2000 a year later and then a US3000 another couple of years later. In November last year i saw an error on the BMS and inspected the batteries. Noticed that one of the US2000's from the orginal 3 was swollen. Removed it from the rack and because of holidays it only went in to Segen January this year.
Feedback from Segen was almost the same as the people above. Over voltage in the first 3 months of the life of the battery, never again after that. No other alarms until the failure in November. Segen also did not want to honour the Warranty. I also argued that the Pylontech documents says that it will protect it self against over voltage, and should disconnect or switch of the battery. If that is not the case and the BMS keeps the battery alive, they should honour the warranty as that is normal operation of the battery. If 54V is so critical then the battery must disconnect itself and wait for manual reset.
All i can say from this is if you have an Axpert or Voltronic type inverter witbout the can comms to the battery and you have Pylontechs, then you probably have experienced over voltage and probably have no warranty.
Very frustrating as the main reason I purchased the batteries was for the 10 year warranty.
