  1. I have an 8kW Deye On low load it also stays on about 51/53W. I will check on the higher loads later today.
  2. There is space for them on the sides, depends on how many breakers you add on the centre row. I omitted the Grid neutral bar as there was not enough space. If I recall correctly, I had to add 1 extra neutral bar. I had to install my geyser CBI Astute timer on the bottom row as I had run out of space on top.
  3. This is the diagram I used, with the exception that I took out the bottom SPD and installed it on my inverter Output breaker to the essentials.
  4. I got this one from LiveStainable. Good price as well. Eurolux DB Board Plastic Flush TXM-36P – LiveStainable
  5. Easiest by far is mounting a surface mount over the old flush one. I did this and am chuffed with the results.. (Though my surface mount turned out to be a flush mount....I ordered the incorrect one, but it still looks good)
  6. This is much better than sending in the whole inverter. Did you follow the Sunsynk RMA instructions online or contact them another way? My 5kW has the same problem after a lightning strike.
  7. Same thing happened to my Narada's a few years ago. 3 of them knocked out by a lightning strike. I replaced the bms with Ant and JBD. Of the two, the JBD is definitely the better one. All the batteries are still running with no problems.
  8. I would recommend that you use pbix example in the link that I posted and test your protocols on the Modpoll Utility.
  9. I really enjoy your persistence with this... Here is a link from someone that reads the Sol-Ark/ Sunsynk/ Deye inverters from the modbus. (All the same inverter) GitHub - pbix/HA-solark-PV: Home Assistant integration for the SolArk PV Inverter He is using the 12kw version, so I am sure you can use @slipx protocol for yours.
  10. The past couple weeks have been terrible as far as solar production is concerned. Yesterday has been the best this year so far. Edit: I must really slow down and read the title.....This is not in Durban, but in Mpumalanga
  11. I am sure this has been discussed before, but for the life of me I cannot find it. I noticed awhile back that the daily total load consumption (mbus #084) is +-3.5kwh lower than actual total consumption. I presume that this has to do with losses and self-consumption. The energy dashboard in home assistant uses the correct formula for total house consumption. Viz. (Solar power + battery discharge + grid import - battery charge) This will give your total household consumption with everything factored in.
  12. Nope, it is local Emoncms running on Ubuntu laptop.
  13. So far another good production day in the making....Swambo is taking full advantage.... Screencast from 14-10-2023 09_23_57.webm
  14. I have had 2 really bad days in the last month...Yesterday was a humdinger...
  15. GVC

    Axpert Logger

I completed the software, but decided not to make it available as there was a legal dispute between the original developer and his ex-partner.... So basically, decided I did not want to get involved in that Sh#t show.
  16. If I may be the devils advocate here..... I have seen too often where people pair one pylon 3.5kw....or lower to a 5kw or larger inverter and then cry wolf when their battery packs up and the supplier does not want to honour the claim. Get with it guys, you must at least match the battery to the inverter,s capacity.....as a bare minimum.
  17. The problem is almost certain to be with the contactor that was installed. Either the wiring or the contactor itself.
  18. I am interested in purchasing 2 of them. PM sent.
  19. I recently had Robo Guard beams installed in the yard and on the roof for the panels.
  20. You certainly seem to be living in a bubble..
  21. I also use an external ssd drive with the original raspberry power supply. To be fair it did not crash on every update. It started about 2 months ago after an update where the rs485 would lose comms once a day. Thereafter, after an update about 3 weeks ago, it lost the mqtt connection. I read on the ha forum where several people had the same issue. It is probably not a major issue, but I do not have the time to spend on this and rather opted to return to my tried and tested systems.
  22. I am rather fed-up with the constant updates on Home Assistant that keeps on crashing my system on a RPI4. The main reason for my installing HA was for the inverter monitoring. If it is not mqtt needing fine tuning, then the system stops reading from the RS485 until I reinsert the usb again. I decided to go back to basics and only using node red as an all-in-one service, including dashboard. It backs up to local emoncms and influxdb if I want to dig up history. (it has not crashed once on node-red...yet.)
  23. Similar thing happened to me after the snow the other day, flat batteries switched off the Sunsynk and Swambo could not get it going again. I went home and followed the shutdown procedure as stated above by @mzezman, but before I switched off, I set the "Battery Shutdown", "Low Bat" and "Restart" to the lowest settings they could go to. I think it was 0,10,10. When i switched back on all was normal again.
  24. If you want your entire DB on inverter, connect the mains incomer to inverter input and the output to your circuits. Or only connect the output to those circuits that you want on backup power. (you must obviously remove the current grid supply wire / busbar to the circuits and only run them on inverter output) You will have no feedback into the grid.
  25. If it does not have the change over switch, then something like this should work. Switches - Loadshedding Power Failure Auto Backup Power Change Over Switch 2 x Relay 220V 10A **LOCAL STOCK** for sale in Cape Town (ID:589299981) (bobshop.co.za)
