Hi Guys

 

I need some help with my inverter settings as I can't work out what the problem is. 

My inverter was working no problem, ran up to 100% full during the day and then ran to 20% SOC by about 22:00 at night. 

Due to the load shedding I decided to enable the system mode timer to keep the battery charged at 100% between 16:10 & 22:00 and then  hopefully run it to 20% from there till the morning. 

Problem is that my inverter is basically running like a large solar powered UPS and I am not sure what setting is causing the problem. 

With mains connected and battery charged at 100% this is what happens.

 

If I disconnect mains it runs of battery 

 

If I reconnect the mains, it switches the load back to eskom and then just uses solar to charge the battery. 

Anyone know what box do I need to check to tell the inverter to use solar power before grid power?

I'm new myself, only had my system a week, so not sure of the "why" but this is how my installer set my system up, and it works as expected:

With the above, excess solar is pushed into my battery. When there is not enough PV to cover consumption, the battery is used to top up from first, followed by Eskom after that. Once battery drops to 40% it no longer suplements consumption (that 40% is then reserved for when there is no Eskom, i.e. loadshedding).

I'm noticing your CT coil never has a reading, even when power is clearly coming from Eskom?

CT isn't connected, am only using the main connection, no non-essential items. 

Has been working without any issues so far so not that. 

@ Sc00bs You need to tick priority load , this wil send the solar power to the load first then when there is excess it will go to the battery

Worked it out, needed to have the "Limit to Load Only" box ticked!!
