Field observation: With a permanent N-E bond at the load output, the Deye/SunSynk inverter will REJECT a portable generator connected to the grid input even if the genset frequency is within allowable limits, is earthed at the same point as the inverter and has its own neutral earth bonding (for 220Vac L-N & L-E ). The solution is to remove the permanent N-E bond and install a contactor/relay for automatic ATS240 N-E bonding.
April 16, 20233 yr Interesting @Kilowatt Power and thanks for your post, I have been struggling to get my new DEYE 16kw to connect to my generator. Every time it would try to connect it sounded like it was over loading the generator and would disconnect. I had a hard connection between the Earth and Neutral on my generator to ensure that they were bonded and eventually thought of removing the bond (worked fine with it on my Sunsynk) Once I had removed the bond, the inverter connects beautifully and slowly ramps up the load.
