Is Tesla the only NMC manufacturer? Do Sony, LG Chem, Samsung, GNB, Fimer, Kokam and many others manufacture batteries using NMC chemstry? What is the chemistry of a Tesla Powerwall 2 TODAY? As a US company, Tesla is losing thousands per motor vehicle in tax credits because the batteries are made in China. There are also concerns about supply shortages of Nickle and Cobalt. That is why they are rumoured to be planning a CATL LFP factory in the US. All of this does not translate into "not ideally maximised for long life in stationary setups", or the other favourite equation: NMC = bad. Edited April 7, 20233 yr by YellowTapemeasure

It looks nice in the advertising, mounted on a wall with no cables visible.🤔 It's a 13.5 kWh unit with continuous discharge of 5kW and short peaks of 7. They're not cheap either, though they do come with a battery/AC inverter. It may have been the bees knees 5 or 6 years ago, but I'm not convinced now.

I agree that it is overpriced for what it is, yet it remains very desirable to many, particularly in the US and amongst the wealthy. The same people that prefer an Aston Martin, Louis Vuitton or an iPhone to some more demure (yet sensible) choices.
