New 3KW Infini install
Welcome to the forum! I am sure someone will have more info on the Infini, but as far as I understand, it is similar to the Imeon 3.6. which means that it can feed back to the grid, a feature that you will have to block if you are using a pre-paid meter.

Please help me find my complete solar installation
Good evening all forum members. I have a strange request. Please keep a lookout for the following items that were unlawfully taken and sold: 9 x 300/310Wp PV panels (Renesola) 9 x 180Wp PV panels 1 x IMEON 3.6 Hybrid smart inverter 40 x NF300 Nickel-Iron alkaline battery cells, connectors, cables and glands "GEWISS" distribution board with isolators, 100A battery fuses, circuit breakers, earth leakage unit box with manual change-over switch PV solar cable in different lengths disc type kWh meter Please inform me if you know anything about this and contact me with any info. Starting a new system from scratch
I am a little more enthusiastic about supercapacitors. If used in conjunction with for instance LP type Ni-Cad or Ni-Fe, you could have the best of both worlds, so to speak. Long life and very deep cycling characteristics of the LP types (with no or very little harm). Now you can run a "soft" load for very long periods AND have the punch when needed to start and run heavy loads, especially in daytime. Just my thought......

Sorry for the docx; I do not know how to get the image from facebook to here other than copy and paste! (Will have to find out).- Solar LED Give away!
I now finally have a picture of this super product in action on a height of 4,5 meters. Thanks once more, Jason! SOLAR STREET LIGHT.docx- Solar LED Give away!
Hi Jason, Eventually my son put up the solar LED light at his place, but he still needs to trim the top of the mast so that there is no shading on the pv panel! Will report back soon!- Imeon 3.6 driving me round the bend
For Pro mode, contact Nick Roche from Rubicon, in Montagu Gardens. He provided me with a one day only password which allows you to go to Pro Mode. ( I have found out later that this password could be used over and over if you first set the date on the Imeon to the date of the password)! Hope that helps!- cheap solar panel mount

During daytime, I have used my 200A inverter welder with no problems.- Imeon 9.12
Yes, the Imeon is one of the approved inverters for grid connection.- Imeon 9.12
The arrows look familiar....................until someone pimped on me and I had to change my settings so as to not feed into the grid! How is the Imeon performing thus far?- Proportional controlers to manage Geyer loads
It would be beneficial to use a directly solar heated geyser with electrical back-up and a lower wattage element to suit the available solar power. Added insulation to the geyser will also extend the time the water will remain useful. Using a load-shedding controller with a relay and a contactor, you can reverse the logic, meaning that when current increases, you could switch ON something instead of switching it off. These controllers come in various sensitivity from 5A to 60A which is useful if you want it to react sooner. Then you use one with a low Amp rating on the sensing side.(This is only the indication of the minimum value of current that will cause the device to shed the load on its other terminals and is not its max current rating). Surplus solar generation usually occurs on bright summer days.......days when you'd rather want to use that power to cool your home or to filter your swimming pool. Run your aircon(s) or swimming pool pump when you have surplus power.- Panel Installation Ideas
Duram poly urethane also is unbeatable! I used it on a homemade pipe-on-plate water heater encased in a wooden box with shatterpruff glass etc. This paint just lasts and lasts, despite direct exposure to the most harsh climatic conditions.- Panel Installation Ideas
Looks impressive and secure! I am curious though to know if you will be able to remove the panels yourself with the ball bearings?- grid tied connection in Ekuruhleni
TTT, this is exactly the right fuel to awaken the rebel in me! Thanks for the link!- grid tied connection in Ekuruhleni
I am aware of all you mention and I understand their reasoning, but in that case, if I do not use the grid at all and go totally off grid, they also lose out and I don't buy electricity from them. If I however choose to keep the municipal supply and stay physically disconnected from my "generator" I can keep on paying only what I consume, with the understanding that I'll mainly use my solar generated power with a change-over switch (break-before-make and with the appropriate CoC for the solar installation and a CoC for the change-over switch). I quote: " If you would like to operate a small-scale embedded generator (SSEG) within the municipality's boundaries, that is synchronised with the City's electrical network, you will need to follow the below process. If you plan to operate the generator outside of the City's electrical network, you need not submit an application to Electrical Services." As far as I understand this, it means that you only have to apply if you are going to generate and feed back, i.e. you will have to be synchronised with the electricity network. The opposite is then also true, i.e. if you are not synchronised it means you do not have to register because you are not connected. Unfortunately this implies that you'll need batteries. This need not be to big or expensive as you will have to switch over to mains at night.- Power Mesurement
First of all, will you be generating 3-phase? In any event, the metering is done via a 3-phase energy meter, all three phases. If you are generating 3 kW and you have a load of 2 kW on one phase, you are still generating 3 kW and using 2 kW which means you only export 1 kW (distributed over three phases).- grid tied connection in Ekuruhleni
