Tinmug reacted to Nexuss in Sunsynk SBU settingsThose panels will rarely run at 47v , if you are using all the power they can produce the volts will be below 40v a panel. If you have a multi-meter you can measure the sting voltage to confirm.

Tinmug reacted to Nexuss in Sunsynk SBU settings4 of those panels will struggle to make power as your volts will be right around the minimum of 150v. So when your DC light on inverter is off it means the MPPT is unable to start up. This will be more obvious when it gets warmer as the voltage drops when its hot. In winter the volts will probably be just enough to start up the MPPT.

Tinmug reacted to mzezman in Sunsynk SBU settingsYou can have those timeslots completely unticked (grid and gen); Gen refers to generator. The inverter will then power the house from a combination of the solar, batteries and Eskom (when there is no LS). Depending how you have set it up the priority would be either to charge the batteries or power the load.

Tinmug reacted to mzezman in Sunsynk SBU settingsNot wrong per se without understanding your requirements and usage of the system. Basically what that shows is that the inverter will always use the grid to charge batteries to those levels in those time slots. Also your batteries will never go below 60%
So it DOES stand to reason that you wont have any solar input because your batteries are charged to minimum 80% by the grid between 9am and 1pm and then topped up to 100% again from grid from 1pm to 5pm.
If you want the solar to charge batteries and run the house then untick the Grid tickbox for those timeslots. If you do not want to use the grid to charge the batteries then untick for the other timeframes as well

Tinmug reacted to Steve87 in Question about Sunsynk 5kW inverterThis is not normal, this is a settings issue. I don't say the Sunsynk may not be better engineered but the reason for the switch should be about more than a simple settings issue.
If you OG7.2 is setup with watch power, please PM me your login details, I will sort this issue out for you in literally no time at all. watchPower is very useful for settings changes but it's very similar to Solar man. It's 5 mins old data which is useless. Solar Assistant makes for a much better user experience.

The Axperts inverters with AC power blending will always mix in a bare minumum amount of grid power with solar and that is in the order of 100watt. According to @Coulombit is done in order to do with stability and to disallow power to be inadvertantly being exported to grid during the mixing-blending function.
If you remove grid , you will see the solar takes over that 100w , in addition to the internal system requirement.
So your inv is functioning correctly.

What I have:
7.2 Kw inverter 5.1 Kw lithium iron battery 1620 W of solar panels Typically the solar panels will supply (on a sunny day, of course) between 30 and 40-something % percent the active power used by the house. Example right now: House usage at present is 218 W, input from panels is 99 W. The battery is fully charged (and priority is set to 1=solar 2=grid and 3=battery).
My question is: should the solar panels not provide a figure closer to 100% of the active power usage (assuming enough sunlight available)?
