  1. Hi All Does someone have a working pre-paid rates integration for Home Assistant for Tshwane? Currently there is 4 tiers for the rates. I have tried automations etc but it does not work properly.
  2. Best practice would be to have your router and extender on different channels, not the same channel. This will let your client device think it is the same access point. Change the channel to 1 on the router and 6 on the extender. If you have neighbours that use these channels, then try 4 on the router and 8/9 on the extender.
  3. Hi @Multiform How did you do the following: --> I calibrated the Grid usage kWh meter from Solar Assistant with my Prepaid electricity meter, and I can keep track of my remaining prepaid credit.
  4. I posted it here as the problems started after a firmware upgrade, so that people are aware of the issues with that firmware version and don't have the same issues as I have had and ignore/skip that version. Deye sent new firmware which resolved the problem. So the problem were never the batteries, but firmware as everything worked perfectly before and after the faulty firmware. HMI: 0000-C362 Main: 0-602-0717
  5. Thank you. Deye eventually sent a guide on how to do the upgrade locally through the wireless dongle interface.
  6. Hi Smitty Is there a link for the firmware files, or did Deye do the upgrade remotely?
  7. Hi All I have upgraded to the latest firmware that Deye support sent me for my Deye 8KW inverter. Since the upgrade I have had a lot of issues. The inverter does not behave like it should. If I set it to prioritize the batteries, it does not do it. When I set the Grid to charge the batteries, it still does not do it. Is there anyone with the same issue? Can you downgrade firmware? If so, does anyone have working firmware to upload for this model? Current Firmware: HMI: 0000-C362 Main: 0-6022-0717
  8. Hi All What is the procedure to upgrade the firmware and what do you need? Is a special cable required? Where do I plug the cable in? Do you need specific software? I asked the Deye support team to update my 8Kw inverter, they said that they could not and sent two files to me.
  9. Hi Everyone My Deye 8kw inverter keeps on loosing time. I can't see a setting for an NTP server on the device screen or when I log on to the dongle. Is there anyone else who has the same issue? Anyone with a solution or workaround?
  10. Hi All I currently have 2x Pylontech 3000C batteries. I'm want to add another battery, there is not a big price difference between the 3000C and the 5000, if you can get stock. Can you add the 5000 to the current setup? If yes, would you then make the 5000 the main battery, or one of the slaves? Thank you in advance.
  11. I also have SolarAssistant installed on a Pi, must say that it is very handy. You can view what the inverter is doing while at home or away from home. You can also make changes remotely on SolarAssistant should you need too. I do this when we move to a loadshedding stage level that is very high and change the way that the inverter and batteries work to make sure that there is always enough backup power during loadshedding. I have had instances with high level loadshedding and a week of rain where the panels did not help much and could change that Eskom charges batteries as well when required. This is done remotely while my wife was at home, no need to do a video call and walk her or anyone through any changes.
  12. Thank you Bobster So it is not the case as with the old post paid meters where the meter will actually turn back? My inverter is set to no export, I only had it in export mode to see what the prepaid meter did.
  13. Hi P1000 I specifically asked the installer if I could push back in to the grid and he said yes.
  14. HI EugeneS Yes, the balance on the prepaid meter keeps on reducing. The installer of the prepaid meter from Tshwane told me that I will be able to push back in to the grid, so Exporting to grid. All the excess power that I generate from the solar I want to push back in to the grid. The Zero export function is working, but that is not what I want to do.
  15. Hi All Is there something that I need to do to stop the Tshwane prepaid meter from counting down units when pushing back to the grid. I do get this icon for reverse indication on the meter. Hexing HXE110-P Thank you in advance.
  16. Hey @Scubadude Thank you for your help and explanations, it really helped a lot. Changing to load first also ensured that my avg production went up from 7-10kwh/day to 16-20kwh/day, big thanks for that. After changing the battery settings I can see that it does charge quicker than previously. Thank you for the explanation of how you get to the value. I have have changed the discharge setting to the one you recommended today and will monitor and see how it works for me. The F56 error was when our substation in Mooikloof burned down, so when there was no sun or battery power the inverter turned off with that error due to no power.
  17. HI All Thank you for a great forum and guidance, lots of posts that help a lot. I currently have the following system: 1x Deye 8kw Inverter 2x Pylontech 3000C batteries 8x Jinko Solar Panel Tiger 545W Mono-Facial The system works really well, but I just want to make sure that my I have the correct settings for on the inverter to charge the batteries. Currently the solar panels charges the batteries at an avg of roughly 2.3kwh per day. I know things like cloud coverage etc will have an impact, but even on sunny days it does not really go above 2.8kwh. I have prepaid power, so can not push back to the grid which is unfortunate, would have liked to have this saving. The way I use the inverter at the moment is to let the panels charge the batteries and run most of the house except the heating appliances during the day when there is enough sun, at night I run from the batteries until 45% SoC and then switch to Eskom. If there is a shortfall on the panels it obviously also gets power from Eskom. Is there any changes I should make, or does the config look ok? Thank you in advance. Thank you for your input.
