  1. @Energy-Jason Can I assist you with the needed formulae.?😝
  2. What some people don't realize (know) is that most (if not all) of the inverters MPPT's design has a safety factor of x% on top of the allowed Amps. i.e max input is 20A, but the design max is maybe 28A. That's why Sunsynk as an example can up/down the max. by simply altering the Firmware.
  3. @Steve87 You driving a single or double cab?😜 Roofrack or canopy?🤣
  4. Question on new battery (or batteries) How are you going to get the new battery cables exactly the same length as existing install?
  5. The DB must just be easily accessible for sparky to work on. For safety and peace of mind, leave 1 meter minimum clearance. The machine must not affect the DB in any way. Sparks, material used on the machine etc.
  6. No what I pointed out is that the red wire on the Neutral bar is against the code, it must be a black wire. In your Db Red = Live, Black = Neutral.
  7. Maybe a poor connection on top of the 32A (wire/s not stripped the correct lenght and screw tightens on the pvc ) As said, incorrect supply wire thickness to all breakers. Can be wrong, but mains look like 4mm then 2.5mm to the rest. Live wire (Red) from E/L Neutral to Neutral bar? I think the owner better get a Registered Electrician if he wants to save money.
  8. good for you Sir. Then you also don't need to change the element as it is permanently off!
  9. YOU know the only and correct answer. (your plumber as well) Did the thought cross your mind what can happens when water drips onto the thermostat/element and someone takes a bath/shower? No words.
  10. Pictures, pictures and more pictures. You can never supply to many pics so that correct informative decisions can be made. (Too many a slip between the cup and the lip in wording) And even better if covers can be removed as well. I am a firm believer that the more pics a person can supply, the more help can be given by fellow forumites.
  11. try this file ImageResizerSetup.zip
  12. Nice pic or two can help?
  13. As far as I remember, the 5kw can take a max of 6500w. That leaves you with say 6 more. Voc. is VERY important. You got 2 MPPT controllers, how is it wired at the moment?
  14. @Derek3 😁☺️ I am one of the old school sparkies. If the breaker has a cage, no twisting. Otherwise take your wire stripper and sommer start stripping from say 30-40 mm from the end, bend the unstripped piece 90 deg and wind a couple of times in the same direction as the winded cores. Then cut to the correct length. No pliers. Worked for me since I qualified at Olifantsfontein 45 years ago.
  15. @ClintonDBN Which is worrying. You should inspect/investigate all connections to be properly crimped.
  16. Stupid question. Did you bleed the air out of the pump?
  17. As @JustinSchoeman said, and the opening on the faceplate on RH must be closed up. (No wiring must be visible/accessible without taking the faceplate off)
  18. You are in our prayers @TaliaB for a speedy recovery. 🙏 Strongs for all family and friends. 🪔
  19. @Stanley Rogers Once the free electricity starts coming in, you will fall in love with each component of your installation. Unsightly or not.🤪 As long as everything is according to correct specs and SANS Regs. .... and neatly installed.
  20. What happens if somebody other than you need to pull those fuses in an emergency, and they don't know where it is? Rather not.
  21. Who in their right mind would make a storeroom with flammable material and paint there! 🤬
  22. The way I understand it, they stole the "pump". Which means the complete unit. (1.1kw motor + pump) He then replaced it with a smaller unit (0.75kw motor + pump) Anybody lifting the "pump", remove the motor and chuck the pump and pipe back in the hole, must be nuts. 🥲
  23. 😜 I think your neighbour knows something that you don't know. No I can't help. Only thing I can think of is lightning strike in the vicinity.
  24. Do you mean if your EL trips at say 18:07, your Neighbour's EL also trip at 18:07?
