Panel wattage frustration
Whats the start up voltage of the mppt on deye inverter?

FoxESS Inverter
I friend of mine has the foxess, and he is happy. Other considerations when comparing: local support, guarantees and warranties, ease of installation and setup, required functionality and budget constraints.

New to Solar with lots of questions
2nd last bullet: not entirely sure what you referring to but you don't want to discharge your battery to deep iot to extend its life. Depth of discharge you can go down to depends on manufacturer. If the 20% refers to the Time of Use setting then you'll use batteries instead of grid till you get to 20%. Last bullet: if you want to see savings choose "load first" setting. With that amount of panels you should be able to run your load and charge batteries during the day using solar. Of course this is load , orientation of your panels, etc .....dependant. I would not use 100% during the day but stick to the 40%. Use your solar and battery power to maximize savings.

Sunsynk Battery Setup
Maybe send an email to sunsynk with battery serial numbers and hear what they say. Or distributor of batteries.

Fire risk of solar, battery installation
My opinion: Fire risk could be due to electrical short (electrical fire) or bad battery cell (chemical fire). Doubt that engine heat will be a problem. Lead acid batteries sits right next to the engine in most cars.

LuxPower + Lemoen kit
I would recommend solarwaysuppliers. They have two branches: cape town and Gauteng. Bought a few things from the cape town branch and collected myself. Im sure gauteng is also walk-in. For some reason cape town branch adds 3% surcharge. No experience with lemoen. Somewhere on the forum it was discussed.

Winter time is upon us, big decline in PV production.
Definetly seeing better figures as we approaching spring.

Cape Town "Approved" list of Inverters Question
Being a sunsynk user i would recommend it. I bought at the peak of demand with very high prices. I reckon you can get your install for anything between 150k-180k. Panels alone these days are half the price and batteries about 20% cheaper. Demand has dropped significantly giving you more negotiation power.

Anyone have a review on Sunsynk 5.12kw battery?
Im using 5,32kw. No issues with comms or anything

Sunsynk Inverter not charging batter to full
Do you have comms between inverter and bat?

Mixing JA Solar Panels 550w and 540w
Panel prices are really attractive. Wish i could add a few extra but no roof space.

Dont buy Sunsynk support plus repair cost = Fail
Ok, understand where you coming from. Sounds like the automotive industry to me. But thankfully that has changed.

Dont buy Sunsynk support plus repair cost = Fail
I don't think sunsynk support is the issue here as suggested in the topic.🤔

More basic queries from new PV system owner
in another post the op mentioned owning a 5kw sunsynk.

More basic queries from new PV system owner
My one cent: If you require more power in the morning then place 6 on a bearing of 062 (62Deg N) and the rest 015 (15Deg N). I don't think 2 panels alone facing 062 will make a difference. Will the mppt even start up with only two? I might be wrong but most people don't recommend mixing azimuth direction per mppt ie on the same mppt having 3 facing N and the other 3 facing NNE. Emphasis being SAME MPPT One string facing N on a mppt and one string facing NNE on the other mppt is recommended.

Question: How to get (theoretical) MAX Watts out of Solar Panels?
I get 1800-1900w from a 3,2kw array on a clear cold autumn day in the southern suburbs

Consistant power spikes
Any pressure control pumps perhaps? Any leaks in the pressure system would cause the pump to kick-in as the pressure drops. Just a thought.

8.2kva vs 10.2kva and battery
For lights, tv and phone charging only, 8kw inverter an overall kill. But does allow space for future growth. You should be able to charge your batteries from the grid in the available 6 hour slot but does depend on the charge settings. One battery should be sufficient for your intended load. But look at for "load creep" that is adding or more load than your initial intentions.

Luxpower 5kw
What is the panel orientation? North is best if you live in southern hemisphere. At what time did you get 1400w? As the sun comes up, your panels will ramp up production until it hits a peak. This production will then start to decline as the sunsets.
