  1. Yes, I was thinking the same and that it could be a wiring issue. I will go through the wiring today and check back👍
  2. Hallo everyone My complete Inverter/Battery system unexpectedly went dead this morning, but restored fully about an hour later!? Points maybe to note: The switch of the inverter feels loose/worn. The BMV battery monitor also went dead. When the system came back on the batteries were still full at 13.3V each Overview on the system: 1x 3kw Devel Sinewave Inverter/Charger24V (2years in use) 2x 12V Narada 200ah Batteries (1month in use) 1x Victron BMV 702 Battery monitor 1x Battery ballancer HA02 What could possibly be the issue? Hopefully someone can give some light on where to start looking? Thank you Stephan

Hello everyone I am "riding the donkey to death" as they would say in afrikaans, so hopefully this will be the last of my questions on this. Is it possible to buy the PC board alone from the Victron bmv shunt? I have soldered a new socket on the PC board, made a new cable but stil no power!? Thank you Stephan

Hi Everyone Thank you all again for the feedback. I obtained n a new cable and sockets with and connected it correctly with the right tool I also bought, but it is still not working. Since pc board socket has some blackish dust on it like it burned, I will have one last try to clean it by dipping the whole shunt in surgical alcohol and let it dry completely. If that doesn't work I might have to replace the shunt or the pc board fitted on it. Any idea where I could buy the shunt or maybe just the pc board if it can be removed as a separate piece? Thank you Stephan

Hallo Chris Thanx for the offer. I’m actually also looking for the RJ12 connector since I’m not sure whether the cable connector itself was damaged? If you have connectors that would be great since “mantech.co.za” (as suggested by Pilotfish) does not have any in store. Ps: Is it possible to replace the socket on the pc board of the shunt? Regards Stephan

Thank you Is it possible to buy the RJ12 cable on the powerforum store and if not are there any suggestions where to obtain it? Regards Stephan

Hallo Plonkster Thanx for the reply some time ago. I went through all the wiring, replaced the fuses coming from the battery and everything started working again. But unfortunately it completely stopped working a week ago. Looking closely I saw that where the com cable plug is going into the shunt, there most probably dripped rain water on it. Because the com cable plug looks blackish as if there was a short of some sort. I will replace the com cable plug. If that doesn't work I suppose I will have to replace the shunt as the little board on the shunt then probably got damaged. Would you by any chance know whether it is possible to buy the shunt or the board on the shunt separately? Thank you Stephan

Hi Plonkster Thank you for the quick feedback. I wanted to check into the issue over the weekend, but then the monitor suddenly started working again, only to sound off a deviation alarm that the one 12v-battery shows 25v and the other 12v-battery shows only 0,04v. I did reset the monitor to factory settings and did also a full setup again, but the deviation is persistent. I guess there must be a wiring problem? I'll do a full checkup tomorrow give feedback if I am still in the dark. Thank you Stephan

Hello Everyone I have been using the following system for the past 8 months with no problem at all. Also to mention that I rarely deplete the batteries lower than 85%. 24v 3kw Devel Pure Sine Inverter with a DC charging current of 20-75A. 2x 12v Narada AGM batteries with a charging current limit of 50A. Battery Blanacer Victron BMV 702 All of a sudden this morning the Victron monitor went dead? I checked and all the wiring seems to be intact. Any idea what could cause this? The batteries system still works fine, its just that I do not have any control over the status. Thank you Stephan Narada.pdf Inverter LPT-manual-EN.pdf

Hello guys I have a 24v 3kw Devel Pure Sine Inverter, 2x12v 200ah Batteries, Battery balancer and BMV702 monitor. Most of the appliances that I use are pumps and grinders i.e. electrical motor units, fridges, etc. In total I rarely exceeds more than 600-800w at a time and I never have issues. Now I was running some tests with other appliances. I plugged in a warm hairbrush (150w) with no other loads at the time and it seemed like the inverter was completely going into overdrive with make the loud vibration buzzing noise. Is this normal? Is the load then too heavy? Because the BMV702 only showed a spike of about 350w at the time? Thanx Stephan

95w is not really acceptable, but when I switch on the the fridge it only goes up in TOTAL to between 115-160w depending on the fridge load. So I suppose when it is in idle it uses a bit more in comparison to when it is operating. Not sure whether its possible/right!? But that seems to be the case.

Ok, now I have everything connected to start fitting all devices and appliances. Two questions though: 1) There is a slight high pitch sound coming from the batteries- Is this normal? (2x 200ah Narada AGM) 2) My 3000w Devel inverter is pulling 95w? Is this acceptable? Thanx

Hallo Pilotfish Thank you for the great feedback. From what I found on the internet I saw that it is never to mix anything else than exactly the same of everything. I suppose its called the "battery race" Since you have mentioned that Naradas are better for backup batteries, I would prefer to use-up the 2x200ah and then buy new sets of Trojans. That is of course if I do not discharge them more than 50% per cycle. The batteries are still new, so it would not be an issue to buy 2 extra should my load be too much. I received my HA-02 already and awaiting my BMV702. Once set up, I will exactly calculate my loads to determine which route I might have to go eventually.

Hallo Pilotfish Quick question: I am in the process to purchase another 2x batteries as you suggested. I currently have the 2x Narada 200ah AGM batteries. Can I get for example 2x trojan batteries as long as they are AGM? And must it match the AH of the other two batteries or can it for example be 2x185ah? Thanx
