    Thanks @HendrikBigChief. Weird I haven't noticed this before 😄
  2. spotity posted a topic in Batteries
Sunsynk 8kW 2x 5kW Freedom Won eTower Grid charge disabled. Noticed this morning in SA that my batteries SOC seems to randomly fluctuate. Is this normal? Day View: Note the small spikes then frequent spikes there after. Zoomed: High Point 38%, Low Point 34%
  3. Look forward to @Coulomb's reply. For Victron - Error Code 8 Source:https://www.victronenergy.com/live/ve.bus:ve.bus_error_codes
  4. Just as a FYI - this is the information AIA provided when I asked, not my interpretation of anything. In terms of inverters that bond internally I cannot comment - but I would presume they have a mechanism in place should the bond fail when islanding. In the case of Deye/Sunsynk - they have no way of knowing if the bond took place successfully... The discussion of this thread is permanent vs bonded, not "Inverters that bond internally".
  5. And SANS and the AIA 😉 I think the thing that's important here is the fact that islanding is not "normal" for grid tied inverters... Where as in South Africa we can have the grid disconnect up to 6 times a day due to load shedding.
  6. Yup, thats where my screenshot above is from 😀
  7. @Sc00bsI agree, its so all over the place in terms of opinions. I contacted BravoScan because they are one of the few independents that can refute a COC in South Africa thus hoping I would get the "correct" way of doing it.
  8. SANS 10142-1 : 7.12.3.1.3 Also asked BravoScan AIA for info on this, and stated that it MUST be permanently bonded. Edit: Leon (from BravoScan) just posted on this again
  9. Sorry didn't explain it well enough, but I see @mzezman has.
  10. Can we get some more info? What inverter?
  11. Do you have a separate plug for your prepaid meter, ie from mains (before your inverter)?
  12. I presume he wants to use the grid between 18:45 and 21:45 (I do the same) as its when high utilization takes place. The 95% is just to ensure the batteries don't discharge.
  13. Not the point of the post, but rather supporting your point of installers not being qualified or the standards not being clear
  14. Always an interesting topic... From what I have read on other forums/groups: A poll was created and more than 60% of installations make use of permeant bond. Would love a final answer on this - from all the reading it seems some authorities will fail a COC if there is a relay...
  15. On a Sunsynk 8kW inverter what would be the recommended breaker for the input and output of the inverter?
  16. Unfortunately, the values aren't populated in mqqt, I've sent a request to SA asking them to add the missing values. Only values I am missing are - Grid Status - Inverter Current - Inverter Status
  17. Highly doubt this is the case, as @VirWat mentioned, is there the AC light illuminated on the inverter? You are probably confusing the fact that the inverter is Bi-Directional, so the grid input supplies non-essential as well.
  18. Quite a bit of information in this thread relating to what is required.
  19. Anybody using Solar Assistant and @slipx's card? Still have something weird happening where its summing the values instead of giving daily todays, but the dashboard in SA is correct. Just want to know if I should have separate sensors for today's values, or if there is something wrong with my setup.
  20. Think we are going to need a little more info to provide any feedback. What are the current issues you are experiencing? What batteries do you have? Any idea of the panels' wattage/model?
  21. Not seeing the same values in SA, which is what is confusing me. It was working perfectly, then I upgraded HA and everything went wonky. Home Assistant 2023.6.1 Supervisor 2023.06.1 Operating System 10.2 Frontend 20230608.0 - latest
  22. Daily totals from inverter
  23. Completely agree, on a good day, I only use 3 hours at "full capacity", in summer it'll be even less. I heat water most of the time with the excess power or heat up the house with the AC's and run my pool for 6 hours a day. On the overcast days, I prioritize the loads to the minimum, I do plan on adding extra panels to make this less noticeable, but they will be idle on good solar days.
  24. I have 8x545 average of around 3.5kW in winter, facing north. 3.2kW is good for this time of year on 7 panels.
