  1. Thank you so much @Coulomb Went to the site again today. Its the 145V 80A model. Jinko 555w panels. 8 groups of 2 in series with 2 inverters (4 groups per inverter). Checked the pv Voltage and each string was below 100V. Setup has been running fine for months. Inverters are second hand and one has been repaired due to generator damage (think the mppt was also replaced). Not sure which one was repaired. Repair was done before installation. Can i rule arcing or component failure?
  2. Hi all, would anyone be able to tell me what could have caused this failure on an Axpert inverter? Thanks
  3. Thank you very much for the contact @Calvin Thank you very much @Coulomb for your input as well. If they are faulty would the main board need to be replaced?
  4. Hi All, hope you are well So we moved our initial single phase installation (the smaller batteries and old inverters) to a new location and gave it new panels. Main location was upgraded to 3 Phase (2x 12kw 3P Deye's - very happy) New location Setup: 2x Axpert MKS 5K inverters connected to 16x 555w panels (each inverter with 4x sets of 2 panel strings - yes i know it took a lot of copper) One of the Axpert MKS 5K inverters recently started to get very "lazy". At times when i checked the pv coming in on the "good" inverter it would pull around 3.5kw while the "bad" one would only idle at around 200w PV in. The bad one would change its mind and would join the good one to draw more at times when it felt like it. The result would be that the good one would work about twice as hard as the bad one when you compare the total PV kWh over time. See screenshots attached. SolarMD has tried to assist by removing and changing the AxpertAI software presets (that controls the sytem on their logger) to no avail. Good inverter: Bad inverter: Now the bad inverter has started to give a 01 Error Fault. As far as i can gather its a fan fault and that i need specific fans to replace them. From what ive read the inverters can be picky on the type of fans it accepts even if the connector type and wire count is the same. Can anyone direct me to where i can get fans that can work on these models? Would this fix the 01 Error/is this the cause? Both fans are still spinning (up and down with load as well) and seems fine if observed. Would this fan fault error explain the "lazyness" we experienced earlier? Thank you very much!
  5. Any update on how the soft starter worked?
  6. Interesting, heard Keith also mention these coming soon. Any idea when they will be availableavailbe?
  7. 2x 14 panel string connection instructions from Deye:
  8. Also just received an answer directly from Deye in China: Hello! As you have only provided me with the battery parameters, I have calculated with extreme low temperatures of -25 degrees Celsius. So only 13 can be accessed. If the minimum temperature is 0 degrees Celsius, then you can access 14. The reason for this difference is that - as the temperature decreases - the voltage of the solar modules increases. To ensure that the equipment is not damaged at the calculated low temperatures, so fewer modules may be connected the lower the temperature. I believe that he may have also given a recommendation of 5 modules regarding the minimum number of connections. But I think that 6 would give a more optimal working situation for the sake of a more stable operation of the mppt. Best wishes
  9. Source one: Aim for 550V. The VoC needs to be less than 800. VmP = 550V In terms of current it will draw what it can. Just don't exceed the relevant Voltages. Yes, 14 is good. Math works out. Source 2: Good day. You should be able to have two strings of 14 panels. I would not recommend 15 or 16 per string as it is too close to the voltage limit and you will loose 900W at peak production. Kind Regards
  10. Thank you for all your replies I have received back feedback from 2x very reputable sources (one is the inverter supplier) that 14 panels on a string is optimal
  11. Ok so i found something else that is interesting: https://www.sunsynk.org/3-phase-hybrid-inverter The exact Sunsynk equivalent model states the mppt range as 140 - 800V and the voltage sweetspot seems to be 450V
  12. Thank you for your reply @GreenFields Looking at this thread: Deye 12kw 3-Phase inverter MPPT question it seems as though 9S might perform un-optimally?
  13. Thank you @Scorp007 for your reply. So you are suggesting 3x strings of 14 panels in series? That would mean 23310W and be 7710w above the 15600W max DC input rating, would it not?
  14. Hi all, So im ready to acquire 2x Deye 12kw 3-Phase inverters (SUN-12K-SG04LP3-EU), but i need some assistance with the PV array configuration please: Inverter specs: Max. DC Input Power (W): 15600 Rated PV Input Voltage (V): 550(160~800) Start-up Voltage (V): 160 MPPT Voltage Range (V): 200-650 Full Load DC Voltage Range (V): 350-650 PV Input Current (A): 26+13 Max. PV ISC (A): 34+17 No.of MPP Trackers: 2 No.of Strings per MPP Tracker: 2+1 Im currently lookig at Jinko 555W (JKM555M-72HL4) panels due to cost. STC Specs: Voc: 49.72V Vmp: 40.99V Isc: 14.12A Imp: 13.54A Temperature coefficients of Voc: -0.28%/°C NOCT: 45±2°C From this i can gather the following (following: https://unboundsolar.com/blog/string-sizing-guide ) : Min string size: 6 panels (if i take the NOCT Vmp of 38.59V) : 200/38.59 and round up. Max strings size taking min temp (0°C where i live) into consideration: 14 panels: 800/49.72=16: 16*40.99 = 655.84 - too high so knock one down to 15 panels temp adjust: 49.72*0.0028 = 0.139216*47 = 6.543152+49.72= 56.27V max Voc at 0°C. Thus 56.27*15=843.95 - too high so knock one more down to 14 panels. Now for my question and for where im getting confused. 14 panels would mean 7770w - Can one Mppt string handle this amount of power? Would it clip or could it get damaged? If i aim for 5200w per string - that would mean 9 panels - it would mean my Vmp would only be 368.91 - which in turn would be too low to be optimal due to being to far from 550v. Is that correct? What would be optimal? Thank you so much
  15. Thank you, so it can/has been done/implemented on the Deye side with different software or has nobody done this yet with a deye?
  16. Sorry if this was asked/answered already. Can anyone confirm if this will also work with Deye inverters? If so, what is the extent of the code change? I need to decide if im going to go with Deye or Sunsynk for my 3phase setup. Thanks so much
  17. Good day, I would like to know if the Deye inverters be set up to control a smart switch only when there is excess pv power available? Example: only power ac air conditioner unit (via smart switch) when battery is full and pv > total ac loads? Thank you
  18. you might want to consider this:
  19. The generator is connected to the charger only. I dont think i ever want to connect a generator to an inverter ever again. The chances of damaging something expensive is too great. if you have a small generator (smaller than your total inverter load capacity + inverter ac charging capacity) and if you care about your inverters and dont want to feed any dirty power into your system then: gen -> charger -> dc bus is the way to go if you ask me
  20. Thank you, but i would like to stick to my current batteries. Its going to be too expensive to change them out as well. So a LV 3phase inverter is needed
  21. Ok, so im thinking of going the 2x 12kw deye 3 phase inverter route. We currently have a 2x 5kw Axpert system with 36kwh solarmd batteries and 24x 320w pv panels (12x per inverter). Would like to add another pv string as well. What can i expect to pay for the labour only to do such a conversion?
  22. After some reading it seems that the 3phase 12kw deye/sunsynk inverters are the best current value/features if one want to go 3phase as they can supply unbalanced single phase loads. Adding one later if needed also seems a better option than 3x 8kw single phase units. Seems as though 6kw per phase is supported on off-grid mode = 18kw total? or am i missing somthing? Any input/considerations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much
  23. Hi Guys, thank you for all your replies Any other recommendations perhaps?
