  6. Looking at getting a 1 year old Magneto Battery Wall Mount 5.1kWh battery. I see it uses the same generic scren (controller?) as most of the locally build batteries. Would the BMS have protected it against charging at too high voltage etc? I know the pylontechs don't trip when you pull more power than specced or have too high a charge voltage
  7. did you install the Magneto battery? They seem to be priced competitively
  8. I use the Aurora LED ICE range from livecopper everything else dies apart from the Philips 3w bulbs I use in the bedrooms (very hard to find nowadays)

  12. @Steve87 what battery setting did you put in the Kodak inverter? I'm looking for the Livoltek BLF51-5 settings for a Kodak OG 5.48 inverter
  13. Did you ever do this? Its seems strange to that manufacturers mount the fans so they try to suck the warm air form the bottom of the inverter
  14. I have a 5 year old Pylontech US3000C that's working well connected to a Must hybrid inverter that can't read the SOC - it's been operating mostly in UPS mode without any issues. I'm thinking of either adding an additional 3000C to allow for higher amp capacity. Is there any issue with connecting both a new and old pylontech battery in parallel? Should I rather sell and get a Dyness 5.12KW Lithium Battery BX51100 for almost the same price?
  15. I have a similar issue with the 5kw 48v model and a pylontech lithium battery - nothing I have tried has stopped the charge indicator. Although I don't think it has any real world impact as the battery seems to stop accepting charge once its full according to the amps display and the battery LEDs
  16. Anyone up to service an unhappy Kodak (model OFF-GRID INVERTER KING WITH UPS 5KW)?
  17. Mine seems to have gone away. It may have had something to do with very high humidity or reducing the charging amps down to 20A on the pylontech.
  18. I have a Mecer 2400VA similar to this in our complex guardhouse that provides backup power to CCTV and the comb intercom (controlling the gate access remotes). This causes a puzzling issue when the UPS is operating as the gate remotes work very intermittently and inconstantly. When the intercom system runs off its own battery or Eskom the remotes work without an issue. It seems the UPS is outputting a RF signal in the 400Mhz band blocking the remote's signal from reaching the intercom box outside. Would popping a few of these clip on ferrites on to the leads coming from and to the inverter fix this?
  19. Yes, I simulate load shedding by disconnecting Eskom for 3 hours while at home using my appliances normally. This discharges 1/3 to 1/2 of the pylontech 300C's capacity. I also bumped up the charging rate to 20A
  20. After 6 rounds of testing I haven't been able to recreate error 08. The only condition missing is the rain with the wet car parked in the garage next to the inverter. My theory is that on my inverter error 08 is triggered by condensation and/or very high relative humidity
  21. I have the same fault 08 "Inverter bus voltage too high" popping up on my Must Power PV18-5048VHM inverter with the setup below: No PV panels installed 1 x Pylontech 3000C battery without comms cable Inverter wired into the DB as a UPS for my lights and plugs Battery earth and inverter earth are connected to the DB earth No other faults or issues Mounted in garage In both cases the fault occurred at night after load shedding when the battery was recharging. After resetting the inverter it operated normally until next night. Recently I had an issue with my earth at the Eskom box causing the prepaid meter to disconnect leaving me without power until Eskom fixed the earth connection on the neutral cable outside. The second possible cause/contribution was that this was the first time in ages that I had parked my car in the garage after driving in a rain storm. The garage at at 10pm was very humid (almost steam sauna). Both faults also occurred very early in the morning when the garage cools down and there is possible condensing from the humidity. The last issue could be that I had changed the battery charging rate down from 25A to 10A and I'm experimenting with higher charging rates to see if there is any pattern
  22. Our office has a unused outback inverter in the server room and wired in to the DB we would like to get it up and running with batteries. Are there any technicians here who work on them in the Sandton area? Thanks
