I have around 250kWh of Leaf cells running Victron ESS  - not exactly a DIY task job as it all just bolts together.

Another vote for SketchUp - here's one I made earlier, just galvanised box and angle.

That's the product designed by 4eco, before they did the usual startup trick of over trading/insolvency/no support - a n other purchased the IP and some stock of that product.
Some of the original founders of 4eco jumped on the EV charger bandwagon and are currently managing to stay afloat producing the Zappi charger, there's also a PV surplus diverter in their range as well.
There's plenty of alternatives - I have a Fronius OhmPilot.

A very sensible combination - don't forget a Venus device is required.

Perhaps I should have mentioned that I'm in Orkney, the Scotish island that self produces 120% of its annual electricity requirements. Entire packs are readily available on the mainland. There are a number of large vehicle breakers here that may well be prepared to quote for shipping, but the legality and logistics of sending a used Li battery, removed for an accident damaged vehicle may well be problematic.

Running the output of a wind turbine through a charge controller intended for PV use will not be productive simply due to the nature of the way MPPT works.
A charge controller designed for WT will allow the user to manually enter the I/V curve data, which may be available from the manufacturer, more often via observation and data gathering.

    Thanks Mr Plonkster.
The problem with data, is that once you start getting some, you just keep wanting more.
    I used to be happy with a 30 - 0 - 30 centre zero ammeter and a voltmeter (checked once a day).

60P with 18650s makes sense, for some reason I thought you'd used rather a lot of leaf cells.
The shunt lock up, was a known issue, that 2.07 was supposed to resolve (previously attributed to weak wifi) - mine still does it, Jaron is aware, I'm yet to let him remote in - I expect it will be resolved.
I'm using the LeafMons, they do get rather to warm rather quickly when in bypass.
Our grid is very stable, so my AC PV is on mains in, system is grid parallel - wind is split between 3kW AC, the remainder into a DC charge controller (Outback) - the wind input here is significant.
Mr Plonkster, could I say a public thank you for you having taken the time on this forum, to share your in depth knowledge of the Victron range. This knowledge, of how systems actually work, does make configuration far less suck it and see. While the Victron documentation is good, it lacks any detail as to the inner logic and operation.
