  1. Also, how would I check the battery firmware version?
  2. aaaa Li4 setting.. is that L14 or L04 I had made my cable like that one.. did not work.. could be setting Li04 then?
  3. Could someone also perhaps assist with the firmware (all three). All of them. ( will send email address via message) Simply cant get the Shinewifi to work. I assume it is the third firmware update. Using laptop or phone I get to the login screen on the Shine AP and once logged in I can see it drops wifi and I effectively dont get authenticated keeping me stuck on the login or first screen post login. Also if someone can confirm the pinout for the BMS cable for a SPF5000TL HVM with a Pylon US3000c Thank you!
  4. Hi Guys, also looking for some help. Growatt SPF5000TL HVM with US3000c I read this whole thread.. Trying to update the firmware with the files posted but not seeing any change my side.. Cant even get the damn Shine app to work. question. Can someone confirm the pinout of the BMS cable. I created as I though based on my reading but no luck. I keep getting 4/20 errors when I power up on Li setting. PS: Inverter will only be used as UPS at this stage. NO PV attached. I would dearly like to have the BMS running to see the battery % and have the battery manage charge. no luck. Anyone that can walk me through it? I would really appreciate it. Thanks, JT
  5. Hi Guys Selling a Victron MP II 3KVA - build 2628. It is a few months short of two years old and was running with Pylontech batteries. House was rewired to move all heavy stuff to Eskom and light stuff along with TV and fridges on inverter. So did not really work hard... As new thus. I will put some pictures on tomorrow. Selling as I am upgrading capacity of system this side.. R14k (Centurion - PTA) Thanks, JT
  6. you can also get yourself a sonoff POW2. I got one and put a plug on one end and a janus on the other. Busy logging each of my plugs in the house for 24h. That way I can see exactly what uses what and map the problem children... classA bosch fridge/freezer btw... around 0.75kwh/ day in current climate...
  7. done. I just wanted my ET112 to see the net effect...
  8. @plonkster On your last point. the question is. with the limit. will it still feed excess MPPT to the primary load side? Or will this also top out at the limit value?
  9. Thanks Nigel. This does align with my experience. But it just means the meter is a waist of money for me cause I wont use it :). No need for a meter on AC-out 1 and 2 as the MP knows this already. And I dont want battery power fed into AC-in. I wanted to have a handle on my net mains watts. As in just use the ET112 as a monitor of current. Seems I wont get that option.
  10. yes. split DB. geyser and non essential sits on AC1. Battery gets sent to this load in ESS mode with meter attached.
  11. thats just the thing. when you ad the ET112 the inverter discharges the battery to the load that is attached before the AC-in... exactly not what I want
  12. so I played around with all options.. no luck. I cant get to use the meter and not have my batteries discharge. I considered the option of "limit inverter power" but here is my concern... I limit say the power to 750w. This is more than enough for my loads on critical. However if the vacuum cleaner gets plugged in or my wife blows her hair, then what happens? Does it supplement from grid? What if grid is off? Does the "limit power" still count? Will the inverter "overload"? Also, if I limit inverter power... Does it limit which is fed back into mains load? That would be sad as I would waist all my excess MPPT generation... Still trying to find the magic bullet. But yes. the charge schedule may have to be the option with me programming geyser heating in that slot... I dont like it though, to be honest. It seems like a band-aid to a sore tooth.. Not really fit for purpose....
  13. SO are we saying that if I have a charging slot allocated then it wont discharge battery it will use mains? What is SOC of battery is above the SOC for charging. will it just not charge the battery and allow mains to supply?
  14. can you pick a cycle time? sorry missed this somewhere? Setting a charge window is not an option as this charges the battery from mains. battery should charge from solar.. Unless you can set a charge window to a 20% SOC and it will not charge or use battery if it is above 20%? Then one can set the battery to a 1h charge window but with a very low SOC? To re-iterate. I dont want my battery to charge from mains. I want to supply solar power to my mains load i dont want to supply battery to my mains load I want to cycle my battery to my critical load at night.
  15. issue is it will use grid during that time for critical loads... first prize for me is that mains only supplemented with solar, not with battery. that is all I want
  16. not entirely true.. The MP2 uses phase shifting to detect grid failure and will then cut supply to the mains... The meter is not to prevent power to the mains side when there is no grid power. It is to prevent feedback into the grid. And this is also not accurate as it will not react fast enough if say a geyser switches off and all that power sits on the inverter on its way to the mains load...
  17. if it is in, then it discharges the batteries to mains load.. Will play around a bit this afternoon...
  18. I want to use the meter to monitor mains usage... So did not really want to remove it.
  19. only solution at this stage is to remove the meter...
  20. I hear you. but I dont get the mileage from this I would want... Will explain offline
  21. Thanks. I figure as much. but feel that there should be an option to exclude battery discharge for this? On a day like today (overcast) my batteries would stay flat as they will discharge faster than they charge? The reason I feel the setting should be available is because the inverter quite happily does exactly this when no ET112 is installed?
  22. With that setting I will not get benefit form my MPPT's during the day? Also keeping the Min SOC of batteries to 80% makes me not use then every night? Currently I cycle them at night to my critical load. My issue is that it works perfectly fine without the ET112. MPPT excess is fed into mains load...
  23. So I have been operational for a week or so. But only rewired DB on saturday.. Multiplus II Venus GX MPPT 150/100 2x Pylontech US3000 ET112 Runs like a charm. If you look at the DB. from left to right. Mains Breaker, ET112, Geyser (Mains), Some plugs(mains), Timer (geyser) and then the load form the inverter. Lights and plugs. ps: yes still need to close busbar... waiting for a piece of plexiglass... Nice little hidden busbars for PV inputs I have one issues though.. I was running without the ET112 for a week. It would feed in to my mains load the excess MPPT without a problem. Now with the ET112 installed and hooked up it empties the battery as well to the mains load. That is no good... And I cant seem to find the setting that allows only MPPT excess to be fed into the main load... Dont want that hit on my battery bank..
  24. got this to work eventually.. then been very busy for the week. I ended up connecting the Mk3 to the venus. this then picked it up. When I plugged it back in the laptop it worked as well.. No idea why..
