Treschen got a reaction from Jacques Ester in My 8kw Sunsynk + BSL Setup *HA, Solar Assistant and Node Red update*Eventually got down to adding a heatpump for the 250L geyser, eskom usage is now down to 2.5kw - 3kw per day. From my previous 50-60kw this is a big win for me.
Heat Pump is a Kwikot HP007, uses about 1900 watts and can heat water up to 75 degrees I have mine set to 68 degrees. It takes the same time to heat as the element in the geyser which was 4400 watts however the element was set to lower temp of 60 degrees. Water is hot in 2 hours sometimes less.
Now to bite bullet and add the third BSL

Treschen got a reaction from Jacques Ester in My 8kw Sunsynk + BSL Setup *HA, Solar Assistant and Node Red update*Added a cable for the BSLs and now I can see the total cycles, 1 cycle to discharge and recharge. Hoping when I replace them my beard will be grey or Ill be grey if I replace them sooner than that 😂

No, is the other way around, 5 Star is basically a rebranded Felicity Solar

Treschen reacted to Marcodp in F18 HW_Ac_Overcurr_Fault on Sunsynk 5K-SG01LP1It looks like my Problem has been Solved - so just to provide an update, I initially tried most of the setting suggestions in this thread, but the outcome remained the same.
Desperate not to send my Inverter in for repairs (which was the next step) due to the non-stop load-shedding, I did the following:
reset the config back to Factory Default and reconfigured from scratch (Menu = Settings / Basic / Reset / Factory Reset - code 9999). updated the software from version COMM: e419 – MCU:3162 to COMM: E428 – MCU:3382-0513 (I requested an update, and this is what was loaded by Sunsynk) After the Factory Reset, I initially placed a 'TICK' in the limit to load only (System Mode / Work Mode 2) and also removed the 'TICK' from the 'Priority Load' for a couple of weeks, however, I have subsequently removed the 'TICK' from 'Limit to Load' for the past 2-weeks so that I can feedback excess power to my non-essential DB Board again.
Since doing this I have had no issues whatsoever and holding thumbs and things are looking positive!
Thanks to everyone who provided insights/ideas.

Customer will add solar panels later this year.
Don't ask about the pipe from the wall no idea why the builder put it there, it runs back into the DB 😅

Treschen got a reaction from Yellow Measure in Earthing solar panelsFYI from the sunsynk manual
-
Treschen got a reaction from Yellow Measure in Earthing solar panelsIts very vague, but best to put the frame on its own earth rod, earth wire straight in the ROD. Bring the live and neutral down and put use utility earth for those on your DC SPDs. You need a low resistance path to divert a lightning strike away from the inverter and if and wiring mishaps occur (on the frame). They don't want you to put your positive or negative directly to ground. (Essentially no earth bond for PV)

Treschen reacted to Leshen in Sunsynk/BSL CombosHi
Lithium Phosphate
Prices are on par with FW, Hubble and Sunsynk
BMS works perfectly with Sunsynk/Deye
10yr / 4000 cycle at 80% DOD
Excellent support. Had mine in my home for 3 years with no issues.

Treschen got a reaction from KURT_COCAIN in Pylontech UP5000 - Used under 2 months old SOLDPrice drop R23 000. The next 5 customers installs i have to do are all with Sunsynk Batteries and inverters... Go Figure
So letting this go for lower R23 000, I understand solarways is selling these units for R26000 and something but the distributor I buy it from costs me way more than R26 000
I will supply the proof as well

Treschen reacted to BritishRacingGreen in Growatt 5kw ES and Pylontech UP5000@Treschen its also no worry because the Pylon BMS looks after itself, and will cutoff automatically when discharge currents are too high for its own liking.

Treschen reacted to BritishRacingGreen in Growatt 5kw ES and Pylontech UP5000Great 👌 my son in law has same except an MK3 Axpert instead of your Growatt.
I was a bit tong in cheek initially because UP5000 is 0.5C only, but its very forgiving with higher loads for quite a number of seconds.
As long as you dont go above 4kw for a sustained period.
Its a good battery. ( @FixAMess did you hear that! ☺️)

Treschen got a reaction from zsde in Growatt 5kw ES and Pylontech UP5000Simple and very capable system:
1. Growatt 5kw ES Inverter
2. Pylontech UP5000 with wall mount bracket
End Result: A very happy Customer
