3 Phase Off grid.
Off grid 3 phase system. 3 x 8 kW Multiplus II, with a 3 ph 6 kW Fronius on AC couple, 3 victron charge controllers. Total 36 x 545 Wp ja solar panels. Old lister 3 phase gen on multi ac input. 4 x eTower 5000 batteries. If anyone has done an AVR on old generator it would help this old Kit. Hoffberg alternator, 7 kVA. Excitation 12 V 5 Amp.

Off grid farm plus pivot irrigation
For domestic I used 8kW victron Multiplus II with a 250/85 charge controller and 8x555 Wp panels and 3 eTower batteries. For the Pivot I used 36 x 555 Wp panels in 2x 18 strings on EM Heater solar VSD’s. 1 11 kW vsd for a 9.2kW borehole pump and a second vsd 15kW (over sized to handle dol wheel supply) for the pivot drive. 1 string of 18 of the pivot panels has dual function with a change over to a 5 kW Fronius on the Multiplus (ac coupled). When pivot is not running, the fronius soaks up early and late solar.

DC changeover switch
Looking to multipurpose a PV string between a PV vsd drive (Runs about 2 or 3 days a week) and a fronius grid tie ( on Multiplus output). OC volts good for both., 720 V 18 A. Could use 2 DC switches but there is operational risk so changeover better. problem finding a DC rated changeover rated for at least 750 V 25 A. Search for dc changeover only brings up AC units. Anyone done this? Maybe an old school knife switch double throw?

No, there seem to be a few differences. Huawei BoostLi ESM-48100A1 Datasheet - Huawei Enterprise.pdf

ESM 48100a1 li-ion battery
Press and hold the on/off button for about 15 seconds. Puts it into program mode... then press and hold again for about 15 seconds, takes it out of program mode and alarms should be reset.

ESM 48100a1 li-ion battery
Hi. Any reason why not stick to oem specification? 53.5 V charge and 51 V float seem to be working well.

ESM 48100a1 li-ion battery
I don’t know of any inverter that will work with these 100 %. Huawei power pack seems to be the only thing that communicates to its bms. I have 4 of them on a victron 5 kVA Multiplus. A mppt charger on dc couple and a 4 kW fronius on the multi output ac coupled. I’m using a bmv700 to interface the batteries onto the ccgx. The batteries work most of the time satisfactorily but not 100 % as the can bus is not compatible. would be happier with pylon but at the time these are the ones I could afford. Once you get all the settings right it works. I’m in Bryanston, welcome to contact me.

Victron multi 5000 off grid
Planning an off grid solution with multiplus ii 5000/48. Pylontec batteries, dc coupled. would it start a single phase 2.2 kW pump? We would only start to irrigate with full sun.

How much spare solar is blocked?
I am wondering how much spare solar members of this forum have that is blocked by Zero Feed-in controls? Collectively it could be considerable and every bit could help as it is distributed as opposed to one big input somewhere in the semi desert. Anyone on the forum involved in “legalizing” export without having to register as a generator, having a feed-in tariff, etc. my grid meter is a Hexing. See it actually knows the difference between import and export. Never been able to get an answer as to how it is programmed? Does it count export onto import? Or is it properly set up to register export in a separate register. So I block export just in case I have to pay for it.

Keith’s Solar project
Phase 3 now completed. I have moved all DC into a db of its own. DB for AC change over and fronius input. Add a 250/70 smartSolar charge controller with 8 x 370 Wp artsolar panels. Added a smart switch to prevent the fronius tripping the system when the grid fails. phase 4 will be to add 2 more batteries that i bought in July 2019 and still waiting for a certain Mr Jacco Jackson to deliver. now i have: 15x310 Wp in series on a fronius 4 kW grid tie connected via an acdc smart switch to AC1 out of a multiplus 5kW. 8x370Wp on a smartsolar 250/70 (2banks of 4) 2x EMS 48100A1 li-ion batteries. Eskom must do what they like...

ESM 48100a1 li-ion battery
I have now added 8*370Wp panels on a 250/70 SmartSolar charger. So when grid fails I will have solar input. Also added a smart switch that will disconnect the fronius when grid fails. Now probably got enough solar to supply more loads and integrate the control to the smart switch.

Thanks been looking for this number... upper charge voltage 55 V. Resolves my issue or rather explains why I have it. when mains fails and solar is more than load (I have fronius on acout1 of a multi) the multi needs to get rid of all solar by putting it into the battery, volts on dc goes to 55+, battery closes down, system “trips”. Volts has been removed so battery recovers, inverter comes on and the fronius starts synch process, as soon as it comes on line, repeat high dc volt trip.... so I am now switching the PV input to fronius off when there is load shedding... or I switch on a dummy load to keep load above PV until the frequency shift takes over. But even so if the dummy load all of a sudden switches off the frequency shift is not fast enough so ... high dc volt trip. An omnipilot will sort it... I have noticed that after this trip. When the inverter comes back the sos jumps up some 10%. id post vrm graphs if I knew how to....
