  1. I spoke to Candice, she said this was already done by the manufacturer. sjoe
  2. can someone explain this to me? I've bought the Victron Multiplus II 48V x 2 special and planning to connect up my DIY EVE based battery Haven't started yet. I'm still too new with this and every time I want to start, I find out there is something else that first needs to happen. I waited 2 months for my bench PSU to arrive so that I can top balance them, but then found out I first need to discharge the batteries @ 25C, then charge it at 448W to 3.65V - rest 30 mins. Discharge at constant 448W to 2.5V (5 times). So now I'm first doing research into what I should get to discharge the battery. In the meantime I'm still busy trying to design a linear case in Freecad/Onshape.com that sucks in power from both sides and vents out at the top. Also building a chimney for my Victrons, so that it can vent out directly from the top of my roof because my garage gets very warm.
  3. Good day I can't find anything in my SANS book. I want want to feed my inverter's grid power from the garage Sub DB. It is a big 54 Way DB. Am I allowed to feed the inverter from there, and then bring it back into the same physical DB? I.e. partition the DB. Then run the inverter's feed back to my main DB where it will connect up with a 50A MCB, before going into a 63A Contactor (NO/NC)
  4. I wasn't talking about melting points, I was talking about flammability. Standard PLA is highly flammable, hence you don't use it with anything electricity wise.
  5. What printer were you using ? Remember you need to use ePLA (Fire retardant) and can't use standard PLA, ABS, PETG, SBS, etc You also need to compress those batteries, received my batteries from Apex a few weeks ago, going to build a steel chassis, with fans in /out on both sides.
  6. You will have to drop your price quite a bit to get interested parties, since the cost price on a new Multiplus II 48/5000 + Cerbo is R18k ex (Victron Combo special, 31 Dec 2023)
  7. They said this will be coming in the new year. They are busy with company registration , banking, getting someone local. Remember it is currently going through the Buffalo Warehouse which is a China-state based entity to promote exports.
  8. Here is also the doc for the 280AH that Candice sent me EVE LF280K.pdf
  9. These are from my order a week or so ago. 16 x 280AH + BMS Haven't started playing with anything because i still need a Bench PSU or battery balancer. Got my 3x Victron 5kw & 250/100 mppt. (using 2x 5kw & 1 mppt for now). However still missing some BOM, and the solar combiners are only arriving in the new year from Aliexpress. Bench PSU also coming from Aliexpress, January sometime if lucky. Don't know too much about these things so will wait for the hardware first. In the meantime I'll build the battery holder with some nice fans & compression Also got some fire retardant ePLA to 3D print a casing for it. I used FNB SWIFT (took 7 days to clear and a couple of calls & paper work from the bank)
  10. There is nothing to ship, their stock is already in Kempton Park.
  11. Lol, i asked candice now, why they billed me $80 for shipping, but $0 for you. Update: She told me she factors the shipping cost into the cell price now +$5, because too many people were asking her about shipping costs. (China to Kempton Park)
  12. Yes, received my 16x280AH batteries + BMS this morning. The "shipping" on their quote, is from China to Kempton park, that they are factoring in at a bulk rate. Which is a fraction of when you want to import it directly. My Last quote for self-shipping from China worked out more than the batteries itself. Ordered & Paid: 27th October, took a week to be cleared by FNB/SWIFT (3rd November). Ready for collection: Friday the 3rd November. Got a quote from Courier Guy at 9 AM and accepted. They collected at 10:30AM. (R770) + R30 000 insurance (R700), so ~R1470 for delivery from Kempton Park to Cape Town. Delivered: 6th November (Bellville) @ 08:00 AM Haven't tested them, but from inspection they all look 100%. No swelling, fall damage, etc. Also very thoroughly packed and stuffed. Total Cost: Around ~R35 000 (BMS + 16x280AH cells + Forex R/$ + FNB fees. At the time FNB calculated me at R19.01 per 1USD )
  13. Deal with Candice. I bought my 16 x 280AH + Apex BMS on Friday, Worked out about R35000 for it all. Just waiting for the SWIFT to be cleared then getting it collected, +- R1200 from Courier Guy to get it to Cape Town. 081 794 8465 [email protected] https://apexium.en.alibaba.com/ They contacted me back after I've sent them a DM on alibaba a couple of months ago.
  14. Hi With whom did you deal with? I'm speaking to a Candice, but not sure if it is a real Candice ([email protected]) or someone impersonating apex. Would you mind sharing the e-mail. because this person went quiet the moment I asked about, who owns the Warehouse, regulations regarding OOB, CPA, etc.
  15. you can just directly EFT from your bank. This is the proforma they sent me yesterday. You can remove shipping and use your own (from JHB). $176 US for local shipping is a bit steep. edit: i do noticed now the line item shows "230" and not "280ah", I will have to e-mail them. (and i see they have the 304AH cells now)
