  1. You called it. Fuse for sting 2 was blown.
  2. Thanks. I notified the installer to come and have a look. I will give feedback once the cause is know. If it is indeed a failed MPPT controller, I hope the Sunsynk warranty will cover the repairs.
  3. Hi, I have a Sunsynk 8kW inverter with 10 x 550W JA solar panels arranged in 2 strings of 5 each which was installed 15 months ago. This past Friday afternoon the one string (MPPT2) stopped feeding power to the inverter. I only realised this yesterday after noticing the reduced solar production and checking the Sunsynk and SolarAssistant apps. MPPT2 is showing a voltage reading but no current. I received no warnings or errors via the Sunsynk app. Has anyone experienced something similar?

  7. Got the following response from Sunsynk support: "We have an issue at the moment with fault codes being thrown up on Sunsynk Connect but not actually on the inverter. Please check if these codes are real (on the inverter), and if so let me know asap so that we can investigate further. If not, please bear with us whilst we fix this issue."

  9. Would you mind sharing an invite link to the WhatsApp Support Group please?
  10. Just now for the first time since my inverter was installed last year, I also received 4 fault codes directly after one another in the seq below: F57 - AC_BackFeed_Fault F54 - AC_C_InductCurr_DcHigh_Fault F52 - AC_A_InductCurr_DcHigh_Fault F51 - Battery_TempHigh Now all is normal. Battery temp @ 15C Anyone experienced this before or know what the combination of codes could indicate?
  11. You were right. I emailed Synsynk and this was the response from them:
  12. Thanks. Now I understand.
  13. Thanks for that advice. How do I calculate the actual kW from the battery discharge Amps when looking at these?
  14. I am looking for a budget battery backup with solar solution for my retired parents. Their usage rarely exceeds 10kWh per day. Want a solution that will power the essentials during loadshedding as well as frequent substation trips in their area. I found the following and was wondering how these prices could be so low: Conderenergy 6.2kva Inverter & 5.1kw Conderenergy Lithium battery with 450w solar panels & installation kit @ R33 900. Conderenergy 6.2kva Inverter & 5.09kw Svolt Lithium battery with 450w solar panels & installation kit @ R35 900 Question ror those in the know: Any obvious warning flags?
  15. I see the "PowerLynk" has "Only available in South Africa" on the main info page. Then "LifeLynk" models' guides are linked to on the "PowerLynk" and "Loadshedder" pages? Very confusing.
  16. Saw this on MyBB this morning: SunShift Solar Management A colleague of mine has a Victron system and its software already provides most of these features. I wonder how long before Sunsynk and the other major brands will make these features standard within their own inverter software. Sunsynk announced earlier this year that they were developing integration to the EskomSePush API for SA.
  17. Been experiencing the same for the past 24hrs. I have powered the device off/on, but it seems to either loose its connection or load the info extremely slowly (eventually timing out in most cases).
  18.    Nexuss reacted to a post in a topic: Lithium Battery Fire Suppression
  19. Hi, A friend recently told me that his insurance company insisted on some form of automatic fire suppression with his lithium battery installation. I still need to confirm this with my own insurance company. He referred me to this product on Takealot: AFO Fire Extinguishing Ball and another local option is Fireball RSA. Has anyone had the same insurance requirement or installed any automatic fire suppression devices with their lithium batteries?
  20. Thanks for your reply - it makes more sense than how he explained it. He claimed the total Amps of the 550W panels (split across 2 strings) would be too high and damage the inverter over time.
