Posted March 19, 20223 yr Hi I was approached by my neighbor - who has seen my successful Deye 5kw solar array DIY. He built mansion in waterfall and his moving in start of May 2022. (3 phase) * flat concrete roof 600square meters roof space ( no ground mounting space) * he want to be off grid (i dont think is possible with expected loads) *gas connection available in the house expected loads * family of 4 and a nanny * x2 stoves (one inside house and outside building) * x3 18btu aircons * x3 12btu aircons * x2 150L geysers * large swimming pool ( 2* 1.1kw motor) * The rest is tV's, x2 fridges, led lights * 2 DB's (normal house 3 phase and automation one) already built in garage My solution * x60 545w jinko mono - connected with flat roof hanger bolt mounting system * x2 12kw deye 3 phase inverter in parallel * x2 40kwh freedom won batteries in parallel OR 16 4.8KWH PYLONTECH BATTERIES? CAN THE BATTERIES CABLE HANDLE HIGH AMPS? * AC and DC protection boxes (with dc and ac surges) My concern is flat roof mounting system ( the builder doesn't want too much load like ballast type mount) is drilling with hanger bolt okay? 120 hanger bolts second is 40kwh freedom won compatible with a 48v battery voltage deye system? thank you Edited March 19, 20223 yr by nico1 MORE OPTIONS
March 19, 20223 yr Hi @nico1 between the 2 I like the freedomwon because of the high amps. It comes with cables to handle the high amps. I'm just wondering if your friend should be going DIY with such an expensive setup? I wouldn't diy a half a mil installation. Edited March 19, 20223 yr by Buyeye
March 19, 20223 yr For off-grid I would recommend 3xStuder XTH-8000 rather than Sunsynk. The reliability equation changes a lot when there is no alternative power...
March 20, 20223 yr If he wants to go offgrid, just bite the bullet and go with Victron.....you can go with 3×8 or 10KVA Quattros and you'll never regret it. Those beast will live forever, these Sunsynks/Deye inverters are still not proven durability wise. Then on the batteries I think you can get better juice when you use 2V 2-3000Ah gel long life batteries. Just my personal opinion

Those beast will live forever, This is true. I installed a Victron 5Kva Quattro in 2009 and it has never once missed a beat up to and including today in 2022. Not bad going. The Sunsynk 3 Ph inverters seem to be a nice solution but what will the durability turn out to be? No one knows at this point. However going by this forum which has the most Sunsynk threads by far I have not seen a thread with a Sunsynk down title to the thread. They seem to be chugging along OK at this point. I suppose we could get bitten by capacitors that dry out at year 7 or something similar. At least with Victron you know they are using quality parts. Sunsynk? lets hope so.
December 8, 20222 yr My 3 phase Sunsynk went down after 3 months. The only repair and assessment site in in Jhb. It took close to a month to have it repaired and reinstalled.
December 9, 20222 yr For true off grid I would look at Victron or Microcare. Microcare has local support and can handle even start up of aircons and motors.(Victron can also do it) You can also look at Blue Nova batteries.
