phoenix752 got a reaction from Sidewinder in Lemoen Lithium batteryLemoen 24v does not have any RJ45/CAN pot...therefore it wont communicate with your battery. I would reccomend better brands like Pylontech or Hubble

phoenix752 got a reaction from flyfisherman in Dyness batteries maximum charge??When you have no panels, its ideal to keep your batteries full not to cycle them. I would set the time of use to 100% so the batteries stay full waiting for load shedding. When panels are installed then you can cycle your batteries to a certain percentage and leave enough energy to push through load shedding. Discharging them to 60% is not bad

phoenix752 reacted to Delta9 in X2 FREEDOM WON 40KWH WITH X2 DEYE 12KW 3 PHASE INVERTERS OR MUST I CONNECT THEM TO A RACK OF X16 4.8KWH PYLOTECH BATTERIES?This is true. I installed a Victron 5Kva Quattro in 2009 and it has never once missed a beat up to and including today in 2022. Not bad going.
The Sunsynk 3 Ph inverters seem to be a nice solution but what will the durability turn out to be? No one knows at this point. However going by this forum which has the most Sunsynk threads by far I have not seen a thread with a Sunsynk down title to the thread. They seem to be chugging along OK at this point. I suppose we could get bitten by capacitors that dry out at year 7 or something similar. At least with Victron you know they are using quality parts. Sunsynk? lets hope so.

phoenix752 got a reaction from nico1 in X2 FREEDOM WON 40KWH WITH X2 DEYE 12KW 3 PHASE INVERTERS OR MUST I CONNECT THEM TO A RACK OF X16 4.8KWH PYLOTECH BATTERIES?If he wants to go offgrid, just bite the bullet and go with Victron.....you can go with 3×8 or 10KVA Quattros and you'll never regret it. Those beast will live forever, these Sunsynks/Deye inverters are still not proven durability wise. Then on the batteries I think you can get better juice when you use 2V 2-3000Ah gel long life batteries. Just my personal opinion

phoenix752 got a reaction from duncanB in Phocos PSW-H Any-Grid 5KwI have installed 2 phocos anygrid 5kW inverters and I'll recommend the inverter. Its a very solid and flexible inverter. I'll say its better than the infinsolar range and the pricing ia reasonable. It's also less noisy, its a very good inverter

phoenix752 got a reaction from Dirkie in Sunsynk 12kw 3phaseHie, the power rating for 3 phase equipment is given as the summation of all the phases. So in other words 12kW is the total output of all the phases combined. So each phase will be 4kW

phoenix752 reacted to StickeyTape in Yet Another SunSynk 5kW InstallImplemented the guidance from @Leshen and @phoenix752 regarding the DC wiring and fuses, top down feeds and using PV cable for the loops.
Thanks guys, appreciated.

phoenix752 got a reaction from StickeyTape in Yet Another SunSynk 5kW InstallIt's ideal to supply your fuse holders from the top so the fuse will be dead when removing it for whatever reason. If you supply it from the bottom, it remains live even when the holder is opened

phoenix752 got a reaction from PowerUser in Effects of partial shadow on panelsSorry I don't have a photo but it was 3 panels in the shade

phoenix752 got a reaction from Leshen in Effects of partial shadow on panelsTo those that still doubts the effects if partial shadow on panels, here is the example. These two strings are made up of 7×455W panels in series. One array is completely innthe sun while the other is partially covered by shadow

phoenix752 got a reaction from Energy-Jason in Omnipower range of equipmentI'm just curious. It seems Omnipower is a highly rated brand in SA and their products is quite expensive especially their battery range. But when you try to search more about them on internet there is a dead end. It's difficult to find info on their manufacturer like other big brands eg Trojan, Victron etc. They claim to have a 20 years experience but yeah their history is not traceable like Trojan, Victron, Narada etc. The spec sheet has a sinetech address in Randburg. My question is if they are such a high quality brand(according to specs at least) why are they not selling internationally like other brands. Just asking

phoenix752 got a reaction from Gerlach in MicroCare Off-grid InstallationOk...I like these low frequency inverters (transformer based). They last long and its a good investment
