April 19, 20224 yr I have a 5kw Sunsynk, with 14x 455w JA Solar panels (7 north, 7 west). I'm trying to get a better understanding about the PV Voltage. The 131V on each Mppt just doesn't seem right for my current understanding (and 7 panels). The photo is from around 2pm on a sunny day in Durban. Is the 131V not too close to the 125V MMPT range of the sunsynk?
April 19, 20224 yr Your string voltage should be much higher than that , i run 8 of those panels per MPPT and the voltage runs between 300V-350V+- Edit* It looks like your PV is wired seriously wrong . You should have 7 panels in series per MPPT which would give you 260volts +- . You somehow have the voltage of 7 panels split between the 2 MPPT's. Edited April 19, 20224 yr by Nexuss

So I don't really understand where anything is going.

Your strings should be within 250 - 425V for full load, each string of seven panels connected in series. Check this to be sure. Also check that you are running the latest firmware version on the inverter, there were some buggy earlier releases that affected the 8K units, not sure about the 5K ones

Although you see 131V and you multiply the amps for each 7 panels you don't even get close to the Watts being reported for each MPPT. I would also expect a much higher reading for volts and a high watt reading if you combine them. Some big problem in how the panels are connected.
April 20, 20224 yr You should be seeing about 42V*7 panels = 294V on each string. And about at least 2.5KW power output on the string receiving full sun. Do you have some shading on the panels? Edited April 20, 20224 yr by iiznh
