Can anyone advise. On a Kodak off grid inverter. Is there a setting to insure it does not feed back to the grid when your home is on a pre-paid meter system.

Please clarify exactly what type of inverter you have. "Off grid" has a very specific meaning IE no connection to the grid. But you are worried about your pre-paid meter. Maybe you have a hybrid inverter (can use batteries, grid and PV)?

Probably a good idea to google the model number as well.

If you have a Ecolec 570 prepaid meter then you will have problems with most hybrid inverters.

Wat model Kodak are you looking at?

Most common inverter types are Grid tie, Off grid and Hybrid.

Thank you for all the responses. I have a Kodak  OGX 5.48a

You are safe - these inverters are not grid-tied, which means that they cannot export power to the grid.  They can take power from the grid (or a generator)

The Kodak OGX 5.48 is actually a hybrid inverter which can use solar, grid and batteries. These inverters are Axpert type(design), when these inverters switches to grid they are "grid tie connect" but will not send power to the net. Problem with this if you grid fluctuate the inverter can send small amounts of power back in to the grid and some smart prepaid meter can trip. Very frustrating!
