June 20, 20224 yr Hi all Something odd happened tonight My sunsynk inverter shut down a couple of minutes into loadshedding tonight. I have a LBSA battery connected to it, showing SOC 57%. Shut down is 20%. I cant start the inverter up at all. The blue light around the on/off button illuminates when i switch it on, but thats it. The screen on the battery is not showing any faults either. Any ideas?
June 20, 20224 yr Author Update Power came back on and it started up but showed no load on any screens Went to the battery settings and ticked "activate" under the lithium and it showed load again, but no charging to the batteries. Couple of minutes later it made a tick like a switch went off and the red alarm light came on, and it showed grid and load as zero again. Again ticked and unticked the battery activate box and the alarm light went away and started showing grid and load values again. Still no charging of the battery though Also to note, there's been no change in my settings since previous rounds of loadshedding nor firmware updates. Is the battery of the inverter at fault here? Will see tomorrow whether it charges from solar or not
June 20, 20224 yr Author Further update Looks like this problem started a few days ago Also have F56 dc low voltage errors coinciding with that time, but only showing on the app and not the inverter For some reason it also shows "no battery" on the home screen, though it reads SOC correctly and gets the right readings from the li-bms screen
June 21, 20224 yr Looks like the battery might be giving this problem. Any protection on the LBSA display?

The battery screen isn't showing any faults or warnings, looks like the BMS and BMS comms to the inverter is off. Not sure what causes this if the SOC is read correctly. June 21, 20224 yr I'm picking at straws here, but how is the battery terminal connection security. If not this then a sure test if it's a Comms issue is to setup AGM settings & see if the problems persist. If it resolves then it's a battery Comms issue.

I switched to both AGM % and AGM V and no success. I'm waiting for a firmware update, doubt that'll help but want to try that before I do a factory reset. LBSA says it sounds like an inverter issue, Sunsynk manual says F56 errors are the batteries fault... Not having much luck!
June 21, 20224 yr Try checking your battery terminal with voltage tester. It seems like the inverter cannot sense voltage from your battery. How about checking isolators/breakers between the inverter and battery if there is? If all good, I suspect inverter is at fault, something hardware related.
June 22, 20224 yr Author Thanks, tested the terminals directly on the battery and its reading 9v, same as what the inverter is reading. Battery BMS is reading 52v so maybe just a dodgy connection within the battery itself? Will give LBSA a shout today

June 22, 20224 yr Author Took the battery to LBSA. Damn that thing is uncomforable to carry! They confirmed there was something wrong - I think the circuit breaker between the BMS and the terminals and fixed it while I was waiting Quite impressed by them Mounted the battery and all working perfectly again!

Now the next question is, what caused it? Loose connections? If so, has it not burn anything due to arcs?

They said this is a very rare fault, but it's most likely a part fault as opposed to being caused by something. They checked the rest of the unit anyway for other potential faulty bits so that I don't have to make another trip and didnt mention any loose wires or arcs or burns, so I think it's just that bad luck of that single component failure
June 2, 20233 yr i have the same problem as described above. The system shuts down during load shedding and restarts after minute or 2. The battery was at 33% shutdown threshold is 20%
