Posted July 20, 20222 yr Hi everyone, complete newb to Solar, based in Centurion. Hoping to learn alot here, awesome forum! Just had a system installed which was a hand me down from my company, pretty basic, Mecer Infinisolar 4kw, 8 x 365w CS panels and 8 x 100ah Solar batteries. System is up and running, still need to check if the config is correct. Any recommendations for installers in the Centurion area would be great! Thanks

If already installed do you now just want somebody to spend time to check configuration? Edited July 20, 20222 yr by Scorp007

July 20, 20222 yr @LFC, The Mecer brand is well known and discussed here on the forum. May I suggest you take your time and read/search topics here on the forum regarding the in's and out's of these inverters, as they have their own pro's and con's. By doing this, you will empower yourself with the knowledge to self diagnose your system, and optimise it, and/or equip it with the right kind of tools to "manage" your system better (than default). Read ICC & Solar Assistant for Voltronics (actual manaufacturer of Mecer and other simular branded types) Examples of settings - that you should customise to suit your installation (especially batteries) - are aplenty here on the forum. That should be much more satisfying that forking out hard cash! Resetting the system is also important, as it should be done in a specific order. Good luck and Welcome!
July 20, 20222 yr Hi LFC, I sent you a PM. I specialise in Voltronics & Infinisolar machines. We have had to develop a way to tame the Infinisolar machines & have a lot of experience with them. They are quercky as hell but if well understood can be very effectively used. The main issues with the Infinisolar Machines is that without the Grid they behave in a very misunderstood way. When the Grid is present it behaves in a totally different way. The modes of operation are also quite a lot to take in. But all in all, yes I can assist you & explain the operation in great detail & demonstrate these to you so that you can learn how to cope & understand the inverter. The main problem is that when loadshedding & the grid is not present she will Power trip if a phase is overloading. Eg. The 10kW 3 phase machine during loadshedding will trip if any phase goes above 3.33kW. because it takes the 10kW ÷ 3 phases & this is the hard phase limit. It cannot phase share above 3.33kW. However, when the grid is available she will happily bypass & not trip at all. You can imagine the frustration at having constant trips without a pattern. I also developed a Grafana page to assist Infinisolar Users to monitor the inverter remotely to prevent overloading. See below. I also developed a way to remotely use the Solar Power software & makes changes remotely.
